Of each of the teams striving to "make an impact" during free agency/trades this year, of which team do you think it will translate the biggest amount of success to?

I'd have to go with the Raiders. Sure they've got one might scary-looking offense now that Moss is calling she shots in Oaktown (as I call it) and now that they've finally established a decent running game with the free agent signing of LaMont Jordan, but they've still got depth on D. They've might've lost Napoleon Harris (a young, speedy CB), but they've still got arguably the best safety pairing in the league in the Warren Sapp-Tedd Washington duo, which coupled with the aquisition of Derek Burgess (which was announced yesterday) should provide for one heck of a pass rush. Sure all of these aquisitions may leave them tight on cap money, but in the end, I think it'll pay off and the Raiders will be a force to be reckoned with in the AFC next year, which gives KC something to look forward to (mainly on reshaping their D).

Second choice would have to be Minny. I've never really taken them seriously as a playoff contender with that lousy defense, and never really liked them to begin with, but one would simply be amazed at how much their D will be improved next year, with Sharper, Harris (involved in the Moss trade), Pat and Kevin Williams, and Smoot (who played on a sick Redskins D last season) around. I wouldn't call it the "best in the league", but it's a start at least. Thus, they'll still have some talent on offense (QB Daunte Cullpepper, RB O Smtih, WRs Burlesson and Campell, which are up-and-coming, and possibly Burress if they do decide to go right along with the free agent aquisition rumors that have been running rampant the past few weeks between Minny and NYG), which allow them to stay in more games next year than last.

Chiefs... depends. If they can somehow pick up Ty Law (and if he stays healthy), then they should challenge Oakland for the AFC South title.

Anyone else... eh, I'd comment on them, only it'd take hours for me to go "in-depth" on all of them.

I'd have to say the Browns. Not because they're my home team, I just have a good feeling about their new coach/roster.

Let's see, we traded for LOTS of defense, and drafted some defense too. Vikings rule, even though da Raida's have Randy now... *sniff*

Chiefs, easy. Assuming their offense (read: Priest Holmes) is right, all they need is the defense to be merely adequate. I think they've gotten that far now, since they realized it behooves them to send out players that Don't Suck.

I sincerely hope you aren't relying on one person for offense. A one person offense in the NFL will not work. But as for Priest, he should have a much better year, coming off a injury riddled year (I think).

The Lions are now top heavy in offense, so Harrington has no more excuses. The leash is short. Bears aren't going anywhere. Seahawks are probably in a stalemate situation right now. Rams haven't impressed me. Cowboys might make some noise. Falcons should be good, as the Eagles.

As for the AFC, Patroits time might be up. Colts might get over that hump, and the Steelers want some payback. Broncos....well, are the Broncos. (1 and done...) Dolphins are rebuilding. Chargers should be good, if they don't experience a hangover.

Rest aren't in any position really, at least as far as my memory serves...

It's not necessarily that they rely on Holmes, but he's so good that he enables the passing game, which in turn opens up the ground attack even MORE... They just weren't nearly as good without him as they were with him, is all.

And the Lions taking ANOTHER WR... yeaaaaah. Next thing you know, the Broncos are going to take ANOTHER freaking running back in the thir-oh, wait, bad example.
