i'm back! and so is SMB3. i've been working hard on this game for the past few days, and now i have to screens to show. take a look:


World 1-1. mikeyk has added Raccoon Mario's functions for me, and i coded the graphics to animate him just like in SMB3. i was also able to add clouds to the top of the background. the status bar isn't final.


World 1-1. some things have been moved around slightly to make it more like the SMA4 version, and the grass was added from SMA4 too. can you guess what the grass does?


World 3-7. Those clouds are actually the Layer 3 mist, and they move across the BG just like in SMB3.


World 3-7. not much to say here...

World 6-1. that's supposed to be a ptooie!

well it's no big secret or anythin

it turns into a coin when hit by a fireball, just like the frozen coin except you can walk through it.

It won't be, at least by me. A two week bump is not THAT bad, especially if there is new content to back up the bump.

Looks nice. Unfortunately, I know that making SMB3 enemies would be very difficult... hopefully that's not too big of a burden. For example, I see you have in your 3-7 screenshots those guys who throw big spiky balls at you. Can't think of a good SMW enemy to replace them, so it'll be interesting to see what you've done.

Exactly, Smallhacker. I used a Dino Torch because 1) It uses Palette E, a mostly unused palette, and 2) It uses a horizontal attack. This explains why i asked that question about the Dino Torch, because the vertical flame uses the same GFX as the goal sphere which is used at the end of each level. @DAV: no, the cape was replaced by the raccoon. as soon as Habsolute Fate releases the power up editor, i might be able to 1) bring cape mario back, 2) make the tanooki suit using the physics of the raccoon, 3) make something close to the hammer suit using the graphical physics of the Fire Flower, i mean pressing Y throws something, but making the frog suit could be quite tough. I've started learning ASM by the way, so eventually i might be able to make a few sprites and enemies from SMB3.

I have a question regarding your SMB remake hack; how would you pull off those fire chain-like objects that are usually littered all over the Castle levels? Those are rather essential to the levels, as it loses a lot of substance without them...

You shouldn't ask about that here, you know. But I asked at another board not too long ago, and this is what he said: "there's absolutely no way i can add those fire sticks without a huge amount of ASM." So don't expect to see them too soon. I understand what you say though, they're quite important.

As for thishack, it looks very good, as always. It seems like you've found a way to add most of the enemies and stuff too. Keep it up.

Hey pete, i was wondering if you could help me with a little somthing im working on.

I do not know how to get ahold of mikey k, i was wondering if you knew how to remove marios other flying abilitys?

Im working on a hack, and i want the main charecter to be able to to use the cape, just not have the ability to stay up (press backwards mario stays in the air).

If i could get ahold mikey k, id ask him.

Im makeing a game about toad, and id like to get rid of those other abiltys that mario gets when he has a cape.
