I'm so glad that I moved to a place that didn't have TechTV on basic cable when I did, because I've only had to hear about the horrible things that have happened. The day I started watching TechTV was a joy. I watched it everyday, all day, only stopping for food and sleep. Then I got a computer with internet and watched less because I had to be on the 'net at all times  . Then I moved to FL where it's only available on digital cable (and there's no way I'm getting digital cable). Anywho, I'm glad I didn't hafta witness its downfall firsthand, it really is sad. Going mainstream can kill even the finest programming, so it seems. |

Colin: You could be right, I do remember hearing that he left to stick t Call For Help, I guess Cananda only gets that though? I haven't seen that show in months. (When it was aired here some asian guy was the host and helped out Leo). Still, I'd like to see Leo make a comeback on TSS.
windwaker: Extended Play is what it used to be called, honestly I used to like it more than X-Play too but over time I've come to really enjoy X-Play, it's got great humor, and the skits are great. Bad camera angles? 
And you have to admit, it's "easily" the best "videogame" show on G4 if you ask me. |

Actually, from what I know about the subject, Leo hosts a version of Call For Help on the Canadian version of G4. From what I've heard, it's a slightly lower-budget version of the original but it's the exact same show and isn't bad.
I'd probably care a bit more about G4 in Canada if they were allowed to air their anime here instead of it being blacked out.  |

Meeeeeh. I miss Leo and Patrick, they pwned. Kevin Rose and Sarah Lane (sp?) aren't that bad, but they aren't as good. I WISH IT WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED.
It used to be about technology. Now it's all about games. Even if it was 50% about games, that would be fine, but for christ's sake, you should really take a break and talk about some nerd stuff once in a while.
X-Play isn't the same, you're wrong about that. I really, really, really liked X-Play back when it was just Sessler, but it's still good. They could be a little more serious, though. |

Yeah, I remember randomely browsing their forums a bit when the "merger" was taking place ... hella lot of mad people out there.

I agree TechTV is just going downhill, I loved how it used to be but now that it has merged its just not the same anymore.:/ Someone should make another TechTV show. Thoughtless I agree with that. Though my cousin watches lifetime all the time I could give two shits about it.:/ I still say they should go back to there old ways. |

True about the "women" comment, Tina herself writes for several of the shows. (Although some of them I could really careless completely about, Sweat? Good lord)
Pulse was good, that's one I couldn't remember at the time of this post. I still could careless for Kevin at the time when they had that show going, but the other guy (Patrick?) was well informative.
And just for the random fact, at one point in time G4 was going got fire Adam Sessler. If they would have done that, I'm sure someone would have bombed the place by now.
But still, my views have been like this for the last couple of months, and I don't see G4 progressing over what it has become anytime soon.
AmIBoard - I agree with the comment that they "Try to be funny", seriously they're not good at it. Half the time their humor just ruins the show, I'd even maybe consider watching Arena just for the hell of it, but because they have the lamest announcers on that show, I just lose interest. |

Since I hardly glanced at either network before the merger I cannot say if the wuality is diluted but I kind of like what they have now.
Yes, even the Screen Savers. I mean, at times it is lame, but still interesting and holds me over for that hour.
Noticed that in the Cheat show, they fired the guy and replaced him with...guess what?...a hot girl.
Also notice that every show on G4TechTv is either hosted or co-hosted by a hot woman or women. Not that it is bad but it is starting to look like the Lifetime channel for geeks.
They also took out the show 'Pulse'. I liked that show.
But oh well, it could be worst. Hell, it could be a thousand times worst. I'm thankful I got some shit instead of all shit. |

I agree. TechTV was good. Real good. I'd watch Call For Help and Screensavers whenever I could. Also X-Play. I watched it. They had good reveiws. I bought Veiwtiful Joe because of them. I never heard of G4 before they bought TechTV. Or merged or whatever. I haven't watched TechTV for a long time. I watched the Screensavers and was depressed that they replaced Leo and Pat. I hate that Cheat show. Way too many poor attempts at humor on there. And they give you information you can just as easily find online. I haven't watched G4-TechTV since. They ruined a good thing. |

And, in a matter of months after the *cough* Merger *cough / wink / retarded* TechTV is almost no more, and what's left of it is completely stupid.
The Screensavors for instance. This show, was great, and quite possibly the best show TechTV had next to X-Play. Leo and Patrick did a fantastic job, showing "Interesting" things and keeping news up to date about hardware, software, and computer specs, tricks, etc.
Now? This show is shit. It's as simple as that. What the hell is this "Jimmy the Geek" shit? Kevin Perieai (spell it however you want), this guy sucks. He tried to be funny on whatever G4 shows he used to host (I can't remember the specific names) and he knows next to nothing.
I'll never forget the episode I saw where they spent about 10 minutes showing off these blogs that were, "dog blogs" and all the entries and info were basically "bark bark woof". Oh, isn't that cute? No thanks, I'd like to learn about something useful.
And now, they've even got their "EB Games top 10" rentals during "The Screensavors". In a matter of a few months, I wouldn't be very surprised if all we get out of the TSS in the future is "Here's how to overclock an NES!" (Not that that's really stupid or anything, my point is, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns completely into a videogame show when it really shouldn't be.)
(What's ironic here? I used to hate Patrick, yet he DID in fact bring good info and news about computers, and junk, I'd love to see him come back and crap on Kevin)
G4TV.com is fine (I'll go ahead and say it, both Tina and Laura are quite ... nice  ), it's about the only good show I like on G4 next to Icons, other than that, I've always hated G4, even before they bought out TechTV.
May the force be with X-Play, as this show STILL freaking rocks, I just hope G4 never fusks it up like they did with TechTV entirely.
End Rant.
