.SAV files are made by the emulators to save what would normally be stored in a cartridge's battery-backed RAM, AKA Save-RAM.

Imagine you have a file "PokeBlue.GB". You play the game and save it. Notice you'll soon see a file "PokeBlue.SAV". That's the one the editor wants. The rest is pure standard GUI filemanagement shit.

/edit: This is indeed not a hacking question.

So how might I go about opening on of these 'battery' files? You'll have to excuse me. I know very very little (if anything at all) knowledge of all this stuff. I most come to these boards to look at other peoples hacks, ect.

I just wanted to fool around a bit on it. But from the sound, it's a lot more complicated then it looks. If you dont mind, can you explain how I could possibly get it to work?

It probably edits actual savegames (or 'battery' files) rather than an emulators' savestate - they usually have a .sav extension.

I downloaded Pokemon Blue for fun. I figured I'd get a save state ediotr and play around with it.

Welp, I found a save state editor... but it doesnt specify which kind of save states it can edit. I have tried the following GameBoy Emulators, and each save state wouldnt edit correctly:

BgB (thats all its called... LoL)
KiGB (again... all its called)

My save state editor is called Pokemon_US_Editor, which I obtained off of Zophar's Domain here: http://www.zophar.net/utilities/gbcheat.html

So any help would be greatly appreciated. That, or just another save state ediotr would also do. Sorry for any trouble I may cause LoL.
