They're showing DBZ uncut. [spins finger]
Well I guess that gives me something to peer at out of the corner of my eye when it comes on starting tomorrow. |

What's this excitement about DBZ?
I'm more than positive all we're going to get are those "uncut" episodes, that were also released in the US for 3-5 dollars more than the "original" episodes. What was the difference? Nothing. I had a few tapes, and there was nothing about them that was different. Okay, maybe somebody said "crap".
Don't get mad at me for speaking the truth.
And Naruto was already ruined when it was licensed. And it's time like this when I'm going to say ... "Dopple Ganger Attack!" ... |

... the hell? With the exception of like two songs, DBZ's japanese music sucks *so very much*. The music FUNi gave it is quite a bit better (with a few things in particular).
Anyway, Japan is an extremely screwed up nation and doesn't care what children are exposed to. They're also a horribly sexually immature nation and they have a host of other problems, but this isn't Japan-bashing time so I'ma quit with that subject. Yeah, Naruto is aimed at "tweens" and young teenagers... So is, for that matter, just about every other Japanese action cartoon. They're called "shonen" anime because they're aimed at shonen.. It should really be obvious, though. I mean, that's exactly the age group that gets most excited by sexual content and ridiculous amounts of blood |

Uhm.. pretty sure it wasn't made for the 10-14 crowd.. the content seems more like 15+ to me. So not editing it and announcing it as some 15+ anime would be ok.. really. Also, DBZ uncut would mean good music and stuff.. can't have that . (Trunks had some cool music though ) |

Not uncut, just... Less cut.
Oh, and...Originally posted by Colin Naruto's probably going to be chopped up
Probably said by some judge somewhere who I'm really sympathizing with right now You keep saying that, but where is the proof?

And that's funny because while Naruto's probably going to be chopped up, they're going to start airing DBZ - this time *uncut*.
It boggles the mind. |

You're exactly right! It was made for the 10-14 crowd, so it's supposed to be for the 10-14 crowd. And the only way to get it to its target audience without complaint of graphic content from guardians/parents/concerned citizens is to... EDIT IT. Removing blood in no way changes the tone of the show. It's not a bad thing. They're not screwing over the plot and the character's personalities are the same, so what's the big deal? There's no way to tell how it's going to go until it actually airs. It could turn out to be a great dub. Save your damn complaining until a time when it'd actually be appropriate. |

I hate how they changed the focus of Naruto from him making a future for himself (or something like that) to him being all omgssjkyuubikewl. Also, the fact that it's easily edited doesn't mean it should be edited, if it's made one way it's most likely supposed to be that way. |

Why? Why does it surprise you that it's going to Toonami? The target audience for it was teens and "tweens" in Japan, why the hell wouldn't it be here? It is in no way a mature show, the only things that would prevent it from going to Toonami are the sexual references and the blood. Both of which are very easily edited. |

I'm surprised Naruto's going to get the Toonami treatment and not Adult Swim... shows you what kind of marketing they're going for there. :\ Trying to find the next Dragon Ball.
Naruto getting that treatment SHOULD ensure that, if YTV picks it up, it probably won't find itself on the Bionix lineup for next fall... *phew* |

Yep. But they couldn't keep the name Gash Bell. Because of what Gash is slang for. And Zatch sounds very similiar. So it's barely an edit at all. Zatch Bell is a fine name.
And I like Zatch Bell
Oh, and Seto. Why would they screw it up? It's being dubbed by Viz Media. They have no REASON to screw it up, and they're a good dubbing company. The only possible edits they would make would be removing some of the sexual stuff and removing the blood. Both of which are reasonable edits which have no affect on the tone of the show. |

I watched the Naruto preview.. I miss the music :<. Although it doesn't seem like they'll have a ton of rap, and I guess that's a step forward. |

WIth all of this being said , I heard that Naruto was going to be placed on the Toonami line-up; now dpenending how they executed it but dubbing and cutting it up; it should either:
A: Suck B: Suck
I can already tell they are going to screw it up.
On that note, I can truely say I have not watched Toonami since G-Gundam |

ZatchBell? Don't tell me that is Gash Bell dubbed. I'm probably one of the few who actually liked G Gundam , although I did watch the real G Gundam. |

Toonami was way better when they gave it weekdays. As soon as it went to weekends it was completely downhill. Thank god there is Adult Swim and TechTv, thats where I wathch my serious anime (And Anime Network On Demand...jealous? )
I watch Toonami sometimes because it is just sooooo bad that I cant help but like it. OnePiece is sooo bad, Luffy sounds like an idiot but that laugh he does...its contagious!! ZatchBell is possibly the dumbest show Ive ever seen...but the voice acting is also pretty hilarious at time...because its so bad. |

From what I know of D.I.C.E. it was made solely for the purpose of selling toys. Anyway, when the dubbing of the last arc of Yu Yu is complete they'll begin showing it again - according to some people from GameFAQs, that's the reason the run ended, it was getting ahead of how fast Funi could dub it. So yeah, when new eps of Yu Yu and Megas come back, it'll be better. Additionally, I hear the license CN has to show Kenshin expires soon, and that CN is dumping DBGT once the lost episodes finish, so there you go. |

Originally posted by Dark Vampriel Ok DBZ aired when Toonami first started out. Except I do remember seeing it one morning when it wasn't on Toonami before on Cartoon Network. Yes I'd agree that the shows are getting out of hand on there by running mainly kids shows that are boring for us. Teen Titans is the only thing I'll watch though.
Actually buddy, DBZ didn't come out on Toonami for a year or so. The series that it first started out with included the likes of Robotech, Voltron, and Thundercats. |

Toonami had Robotech and Voltron. Those were dropped and its gone downhill ever since, with only a brief spike when it had Mobile Suit Gundam. |
