Just about everything is a new experience when it can be portable... that's why the original game doesn't cut it.

And, a lot of people from Japan fly all the way here for E3 because they are showcasing things that have been heavily under wraps, even in Japan, for a very long time. Besides, there's all those conferences and meetings, it's like a big family reunion, but rather an entire company gathered in one spot to get everyone re-focused on the general direction of a business. Fun stuff.

Two comments:

Why not just play the original game?

Just out of curiosty, what are the debug cheats?

Fly all the way there from Japan for a 3-day convention? Jeez, I think I'd just go peek in the window at Nintendo.

DS gets many new games announced, one of them is a Zelda game.

If that's an OoT-style game, DS is going to pwn everything to hell and back and there again.

It'd be neat if Nintendo just didn't mention anything about Revolution until its release. A risky move, though... If it were truly revolutionary, it'd be really frickin cool, otherwise they could find themselves in a very sticky situation.

Hm...yeah, I guess it would be a nice break for him. After all, he has to sit and run a gameshop all day with a friend of his, it must get tireing. Well, at least some of you people get to enjoy yourselves...I swear I'm going to go there before I die

Considering people travel all the way from Japan just to go to E3 for 3 days, I would say yes.

People that work for companys like HAL Laboratories keep online journals on their coporate sites sometimes. HAL employees said they really liked America, and they got to stay for the weekend after E3 so they could go site-seeing. They said it had a very "theme park" or "carnival" air to it, probably contrasting the Japanese business environment they are used to.

With that in mind, I suddenly feel the urge to murder my friend (hes 25) for shutting down the game store he was running around here (as he too got free tickets, and is now going this year. And he lives in Japan now, does he NEED to go to E3 as well? )

...Save up a few bucks at a time, Anya - trust me, you just might want to with all the next-gen stuff that'll be there for sure next year (not to mention this year).

Well, erm, everyone pretty much gets to go for free. (Through any of the official ticket distribution processes, that is.)

There's always next year.

no..not awsome...since I can't go.

I work for GameStop so we get free tickets to E3, but not a way to get there and with no place to stay either.

That's awesome! What's your hook up, Anya?

I was referring to those platic-like screen shots, by the way. We'll see how real, or how close those are to what Super Mario 128 actually is...

I hope to be able to play the "NEW Super Mario Bros." at E3 this year. It's about time we got a new traditional side-scrolling Mario platformer. No baby mario with Yoshi, no Wario, just the good ol' red plumber himself. Actually, it would be awesome if they brought back the SMB2 Character select thing, with those four characters making a return as playable ones.

*cries*

I can go to E3 for FREE!!!! But I have no way to pay to get to Cali. I need to start saving for next year, I am so there.

Hhe...WL2 took me ages to find all the exits and treasures, since I was 10 atthe time. I got 100% coplete finaly, and then they released the GBC one. So I...uh....did it all over again

There's more than enough levels in WL2, trust me. I liked WL3 from the little I played of it as well.

I think the "no-die" aspect really adds to the frustration.

My little brother has Wario Land II for his gameboy pocket. Wario is my fave Nintendo character.

I must have that New Mario Bros. game. It looks so nice and fun.

Heh...the original Wario games hauled so much ass...I absolutly loved the first 2, and 3...was a bit too different for my tastes, but I played it anyways. 4 completly removed ANY relation to the other games (as if killing off the Wario 'theme' wasn't bad enough in WL3). But I digress. Wouldn't it be something if it got remade, GBA or DS style...and I mean the first 2 or 3 games...sorta like a Super Wario All Stars

Ironically, that's the only "Mario/Wario land" game I have.

Not saying the Wario games was bad, but like. I don't hear so much talk about them in the Nintendo communities. And the games aren't that bad either so it's kinda strange...

That game was shown at the last E3, yeah.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turned into a whole game, considering how much work they seemed to have spent on that game.

At least, there is another handheld Mario platformer. Before it was just Wario...

Won't be the DS, I can promise you that.

Nah, the Mario game shown at E3 for the DS (the 2D one) was legit. No idea what becomes of it though - whether it was a tech demo or more.
