Acmlm's Board - I2 Archive - Rom Hacking - Is it something I did wrong or do most of the SMB2 hacks seem unbeatable and similar?

How could you forget Strange Mario Bros 2?

Ok!

As for two great Super Mario Bros 2 hacks you should play:

- Legend of the Blob Bros 2
- Super Mario Bros 2 - 2nd Run

They are both not too difficult, I've beaten them.

You can find those hacks on my website, though they aren't made by me.

Yeah, check out what Karadur said, and if that's not the case, check the following:

If all your hacks have the same file name (but are placed in different folders), the emulator may use the same save state (at least, Jnes does that). Make sure all your hacks have different filenames.

For each different IPS patch you have, make a different copy of the ROM.

For example, if you have 3 IPS patches you want to apply, you'll want to create 3 copies of the SMB2 ROM, and apply one patch to each of them. It sounds to me like you've applied a bunch of patches to one ROM If that's the case, I'm surprised the game still works

I downloaded all of the hacks, but they all seem to have carrot people, except a few and seem to have the same stage strutuce. Infact when I use the save state on one games it works on another. What is the deal?
