When Camtasia expires, you can still use the tray icon (just don't close the "evaluation over" dialog box), from which you can still access most features, like recording
I use that to capture then VirtualDub to record, works pretty well as long as I keep the capture area small (like 280x210 at 15fps) ... |

I'd go Camtasia as well but it definitely isn't free. It's trial for a month, think it's $300 to register. Though, I don't know of any other video editors that would work with desktop capture either. |

You could try Camtasia Studio, it records you screen or a part of it, but I'm not sure. Get it here

I need a free program that records from a chosen location/window on the screen. It has to save to a perfect quality AVI file or (even better) a group of BMP files.
Have anyone got any suggestions? |
