This is a little late for an MVC thread. Anyway, I love this game but not as much as Street Fighter. speaking of wich, I have seen the top Ken Ryu and Akuma player(all one guy, and best in the U.S.) and Mokoto. They all girl to Family Fun Arcade, which kicks major ass. Anyway what are your teams?? I use Amuka, Guile, and Iceman and Venom Spiderman and Gambit
P.S. Dr. Doom, Captain Comando, Sentinel, Cable, and magneto users are cheap (thought I should add that(no offense))

WANNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE

WANNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE

WANNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE~

Oh dear god MvC 2's music sucked. At least the announcer wasn't as annoying as Capcom Vs SNk2's.

Psylocke, Ken, and Captain commando for me

and for the record... Third strike beats the crap out of most street fighter games

Ah, I remember this game! I quite liked it. I brought a Dreamcast with about 30 copied games, an arcade controller thingy, and PS1 to DC controller converter and a standard DC controller. 1 official memory card (with the little screen) and 1 unofficial memory card without the screen all for about $70US. I lent it to my brother one time and it never worked again.

It's so cool unlocking all those characters! The only sucky thing about that game is that there's only 4 attacking buttons unlike MvC 1 which had the full 6.

All in all, it was a pretty cool game.

My favorite Street Fighter game has to be Street Fighter Alpha 3 though.

I tried to buy it again at Gamestop a while back and they laughed at me.
Hopefully theyll make a 3rd one someday.

Jill, Morrigan, Cable = Mah Teem.

There was actually a small tourney for MvC2 at an arcade near me a few years back. Looking back, I REALLY wish I had entered. I would have kicked some ass...

I used to be able to go through the entire MvC 1 with only Ryu or Ken, depending on who I felt like using. I would occasionally bring the other one out to do the double shinku haduken, but other than that, my challenge was to get through the game with only using one character. No it's beating the game with a frameskip 2 on, now that makes shit complex. Die a lot, but I've done it a couple times. I tried with FS9 on and I was dead without seeing anything happen.

I will own you in the arcades with Megaman, Jin, and Hayato.

Unless you're Phil, that is.

In any case, if it's rare and hard to find now, that means I have to start searching for it. Thanks a bunch....

I used to have it on DC until I borrowed it to my friend and he scratched it.

........not a fan of the music in MvC2....especially the vocals. Oy, annoying, and we always tend to make fun of it.

Had it, played it, loved it. Sold it, though.

My fighting game library was just getting WAY too big to keep it around, and I needed the money. Besides, I personally think CvS2 is just better as far as 2D fighters go.

It's a really great game, but MvC and MvC:superheros or something like that are a helluva lot better than it. Those games had it perfect, MvC2 is definately not quite up to par, but still a great game. Also, the music has been slowly fading away in those games, nothing beats the classic SFII music, too bad not many people enjoy playing me in SFII.

I think it was acknowledged that the later ports weren't exactly up to snuff, but that depends on one's milage.

Then again, I'm not in tune with the latest, hippest fighters.

WTF? SC and Tekken...They aren't up there with the "best games"

Gimme Guilty Gear over that anyday. Even DOA.

Wow....first I heard bad stuff about it.

Everyone tends to ask for it, even if its just one person per day, people still talk about it, saying that its a great game.

Not the best fighting game (I'll leave that to SC and Tekken), but one that I enjoyed a lot.

Save for Viper Beam.

Not too many fighters I hate, but this is one of them...PS2 port completely sucks. The game locks at certain times, the controls are horrid, it's a blatent ripoff of KOF really and it falls way far from the greatness that was MvC. Get another game.

I used to play it on the Dreamcast with my old roommates. We would play it for hours and we hadd all the characters unlocked...

....looks like I have to start all over again.

We have this for the PS2. It used to take a ton of fiddling to get it to boot because it's a CD game and our console has some trouble with them (it's almost four years old), but we stuck it on our new HD-Loader, so that won't be a problem any more. This is a great game. I've been a fan of the Street Fighter engine for years and years, and I love the insane variety of characters to choose from. I just wish the music were better (fighting to jazzy lounge tunes just doesn't do it for me) and that we had some arcade-style controllers. I royally suck at the game at home because I can't get the PS2 controller to do what I want it to and my fingers get very tired very quickly.

Well. We have EO for X-Box over in the local fighting game collection. So, I must say that it is a must fun game.
