The new one is definately the best. If I had to choose a 2nd favorite, I'd choose the "Ignite Your World" one. |

Yeah, I plan to have it changed. I'm at school right now and the administrator here blocked my site due to a language content (lots of people from my school go on the site, and he watches us at various times). I'm not going to put a censor up though, that's against your constitutional rights (in the USA), IMO.
Next time he gets on I'll try and have him darken up the affiliation buttons and lighten up the text on the buttons. Hopefully it'll be changed today, but you never know when he'll sign on... |

I see that they're numbered but they have the same light green color as before, not like the good Music, Video etc buttons. And didn't you say something about different characters? 
And don't forget the navigation area under the banner. It has the same problems as the splash screen, very dark text on dark green background.
Oh and you might want to set that theme you were talking about on the forum as the default one, otherwise people have to register and that might turn them off. |

Anniversery just has a better look to it. Ignite/Version Fire. Although good. Are rather bland. By comparison to the best looking layout I have seen for ages. |

Jizuko, I dunno. The apply buttons are changed and now numbered, and they're greener (as are the feature buttons). I don't know what's going on....
As for the text in the boxes being too dark, I'll talk to my designer when he gets on today. It'll be fixed ASAP
Also, there's a new splash! How does everyone like it?
EDIT: New scheme on the forums, too. If anyone would like to join to check it out, I'd greatly appreciate any comments. It's based on the new layout, and I've gotten a lot of positive comments about it. A new banner is on the way for the forums as well.

Well, remove the non-links till you have it there. It makes the site look more "full" that way. 
Plus, it will look better from a design perspective too.

Nono, the general text is fine. But I meant the small parts of text in the top left of each box. Such as "News Ticker", "Content Area", those are hard to see.
Oh and I cleared my cache but the main navigation area under the banner still hasn't changed :\ |

Anniversary - Good but doesn't match the fire theme.
Version Fire - Banner simplistic, as with much of the site, but the theme fits well
Ignite your world - Best overall, but needs more of a 'fiar' sort of theme, though it's fine as it is. |

With content, Vyper -- if you have so many 'non links' down the side and there are significantly more of them than the actual real links, it doesn't look like you have much content You need to fix that; either put content in or remove the links. |

Hmm, do you have low color depth on your monitor, Jizuko? What I'm looking at on the screen right now is a pretty light grey for the text. Almost the same as the links (which are #888888).
As for the other comment on the apply buttons, he's changing them now. He's chosen to use different characters for each one. Pretty cool, actually  He's going to darken them as well.
I really appreciate your constructive critisizm. It definitely helps in the end 
Oh, and the buttons are fixed, try clearing your cache and refreshing. |

That's alot better...but stilll some things
The buttons below the banner aren't fixed, still very dark text so I can't really see what's on them.
I think the apply buttons can be a bit darker just like the music, video etc buttons, oh and the head of sephiroth (or whoever) in those small buttons make them look very .. repeated, it doesn't have a smooth feel to it. Hard to explain but, see it like a texture of grass on a snes game, because it's not made good you can see exactly where the grass repeats.. Yeah, hope you got that In other terms, kick the head out of the tiny buttons.
The text on each box (up in the corner, ex, news ticker etc) needs a tiny bit of lightning up, hard to see those too.
I don't think it's anything else than that. |

We have plenty of content, Taryn! Check out the FF7 content, it's pretty much all done (except for a beastiary, that's our next project). Plus Tactics info and Xenogears info are in the process of being completed. You should check more often
Ok, the text has been lightened, but arn't you guys gonna vote?
UPDATE: The feature buttons (music, videos, images) have been made greener, as well as the apply buttons. The animation has been removed from the banner, greatly reducing its size (down to about 65k). The text has also been lightened up. Hope that helps, Jizzy!

Just a thought Vyper -- I've mentioned this before. You could work on getting some content....
On the layout, I second what Jizuko has already said re readability, filesizes, etc. He's hit the nail on the head with that stuff. |

Holy crap! I had no idea it was that big. Curse my uber fast connection I'll definitely talk to him today and try to get him to size it down or do it in flash. Sorry about that.
I'll lighten up the text, too. With a high-depth monitor it's pretty easy to see, but I'll still lighten it up.
As for the buttons and such, I'll talk to him on that as well. Thanks for your opinions! |

I like the Anniversary best out of those. Mainly because I'm a sucker for dark layouts.
Although a few things that I found ...
The 'banner', it does seem like your graphics guy knows how to make decent layouts but how in the hell can someone, ANYONE that has been on the net for more than 5minutes make a banner on 1.5mb? That is abnormal, I'm not talking big, it's abnormal. You might aswell skip the animation and make it static. Or do it in flash, less compability but most likely less loadingtime.
The text is ... almost not there. I can't see it, it's too dark, it's almost impossible to see the text unless you squint your eyes for long. That goes for the buttons and regular text.
The big buttons, Music, Video, Images and apply buttons does not match the scheme. Sure they're a bit dark and they are green, they are however far from the dark green tint of the overall layout.

Well, since tomorrow marks the second anniversary of my site, I thought we should come up with a new layout. WhiteMist, my graphics designer, made this over the last two weeks or so.
My question is, what do you think of it? Oh, and the last choice was just added for fun
Personally, it's my favorite. I just like the overall theme and color scheme. It all fits so well. The animated banner is really nice, too. It just feels..... good.
If this thread is bad since it's linking to my site, go ahead and delete it. However, this is the art forum, ya know
