I voted for Tails.
He can fly, he's got all the gadgets, he's the smartest, he's cute (), and besides, you can't kill him in the 1 player mode of Sonic 2, he just keeps coming back. That's toughness.
Plus he's cute. 
Knuckles isn't too bad, though. |

If I block out the new games from my mind, I remember like Knuckles best. I mostly played the Game Gear games... anyway... if I take the new games into account, I hate all the characters. So I'll go with Knuckles. |
