Is that your house or something from the top of your head?

It's my house. It's been playing on my mind a lot lately, now that I'm taking over the lease....

I couldn't stand to do all that small line work. Plus, it wouldn't look right if I tried it cuz I never done anything like that before. Also, your work is always amasing Tarale. I envy you in the art department.

Yeah, I've since fixed the trees -- as mentioned on DA, I tend to lapse into lightsources.... and I caught myself most times I did it... just not that time.

As for the dirt, eh, I'm working on it, but after several comments on DA, I'm feeling rather deflated/defeated by this.

In addition to something that was already said in Deviant Art, about the back trees seeming to have a different light source from the rest, I've also got to say the dirt looks rather plain... Don't get me wrong, the whole thing's great, but I think if I were doing it I'd add random details to the soil (rocks, pipes, etc.)

Well, the first picture looks like that yes. I have been working with CAD programs, and they're the most boring program to use. Ever.

I love it, just becuse it looks like something from a mid 90's Isometric game. (heh, most of my favorite games are Isometric, many of the Simcity games. Snake rattle n roll...)

Amazing how you can turn something that looks like a simple CAD drawing into something rich with details... just wow.

I like the one without the outline on the trees. One is lighter... and I thought I was seeing things.

Hmm, maybe I accidentally saved it with 128 colors instead of 256....?

Eh, I'll play with it later... need to relax for a bit now

The lower one is a 'wee' bit smaller in size too. The upper pic is 13.84kB big and the lower one is 13.75kB big.

Actually.... wtf...

One of them IS lighter. I haven't the faintest idea why though.

Fucken weird.

So you like the lower and brighter pic, huh? Well, I can

As much as I love the look of the trees in the first pic, I don't think they suit at all; so I'm considering the second one there the finished version.

The other trees are danged cool, they just don't fit in the style of the rest of it as they look a little... cartoony.

So yeah, I'm uh... done.

Ta-dah...!

I like the darker one the best. It looks better on a light background/layout, like yours.

Ah, it

More trees, more bushes.

Now, I have got a black background around everything.... although when I put it around the trees to match, I'm not sure if I made my tree look cartoony (which I liked but not sure if it suits) or not...

So... which do you think looks better?

Otherwise... I think I'm... about... done.

Personally the tree looks pretty damn good (complete with a transparent pixel every now and then)

Better than most isometrical trees I've seen, and the bush at the trunk looks nice too.

The shading looks nice too.
