Yeah. I think they could've replaced Ma-ti with the monkey.
Give the monkey the ring and powers. Now that would've been cool.

Two problems from the start were that the show didn't include any planeteers that were Middle Eastern or Indian/Desi. ( ) But I find it funny that we consider Heart the most worthless character because I remember one cheesy episode where the green mulleted protagonist said that heart was in fact the best of all the planeteers. |

I used to love that show when it first came on. Heart was used for telepathic purposes if I remember correctly i.e. talk to animals and the other planeteers. *shrugs* Not that I'm correct or anything.

I use to love this show lmao...that was forever ago...doesnt come on here anymore..if it did, I would probably watch it just for old times sake..and if there was nothing else to watch...but heart was a useless one, I remember saying that whenever it came on. |

Heart was used so he could talk telepathically with the other planeteers.... but I still don't remember him using it much.
My favorite character used to be Gi, cause she had the power of water.... |

Wasn't the point of Heart to like, talk to animals and stuff? Not that I can remember clearly, but oh well.
That show was better than it had a right to be. The NES game, on the other hand...terrible. |

It's been so long, I had to google this to make sure you were talking about what I thought you were.. omg memory lane.
I used to have those rings, and they'd like flash and stuff.
The reason I'm linking to that is to pull this out.
The writers of the show even dedicated a whole episode to showing just how important Ma-ti's powers were supposed to be, but I never bought it.
Either I never saw that, or I don't remember. I thought I saw all the episodes.  What happened during that, how did they try to convince the audience that he served any purpose? |

Yeah, wtf did he do besides COMMAND HIS MONKEY. If they didn't have him captain planet would be a fucking badass and kill everyone who litters with lightning because they'd replace the kid with a kid with THE POWER OF ELECTRICITY. I mean even THEY regarded him as a failure at life.
I'm sure none will disagree.
