I've heard from modders that you have to know which generation/model your x-box is in order to get the bitch to accept certain things. I wouldn't suggest that YOU of all people do this. If you feel like doing it, throw down the 200 bucks and get it done by professionals.
I would be fine. I am very knowledgable when it comes to computers. I just dont have a steady hand for soldering. |

Oh.... ok. I guess I'll just install Xebian on it. How do I fix the clock loop problem dealy without using a mod chip? I want to be able to unplug it. |

Well I heard something about removing the hard drive and putting a new one and just putting Windows XP in it and installing it like a normal computer. A friend of mine says that's what he did.
EDIT: Ok ignore that. He says he forgot to tell me that he put a new motherboard in it.
EDIT: Just saw in your post: You can get NT to work on an xbox? How would I go about doing that? |

You'd need Windows XP source code to port it to Xbox. Windows CE was made semi-free... and that's how WinCE on Xbox became possible.
Other operating system choices for Xbox: GNU/Linux ReactOS [2 - BSODs on your TV too] Windows NT 4.0 Workstation Service Pack 5 (the normal one) |
