Thank you! I worked very hard on it. Your words have made me feel all warm and fuzzy. But really, I'm glad to know someone out there is having fun with my game. Those tedious late-night crunch hours paid off. (The music on the level you mentioned is a slightly altered version of "Come With Me", by the artist Special D. You probably won't recognize much else because the majority of the music in XInvert was composed by my girlfriend's brother, a talented musician. )

Anyone having difficulties figuring out how to play should probably check the read me file that is included with the game. I think I did a good job clearing up the important stuff.

And, erm, The_Raven... Sorry for your difficulties. If you're really interested in playing, give it another shot at downloading. (Try Mirror 2) Someone had a similar problem, like some kind of read error... and they re-downloaded it. After that, it worked fine. Give it a shot, if you want.

Thanks to everyone that downloaded this game. Anyone who can get a screenshot of the credits screen in XInvert will have the chance to preview an upcoming game of mine. You up for it?

If you downloaded a program and run it, only to find an error, it is usually much smarter to make a useful reply consisting of what the error was, or possibly a screenshot of the error, or to possibly redownload it in case the copy you downloaded was corrupt.

Making a smartass reply is not advised (see above example)

If you're asking how to change the color of the guy so you can jump on the different-colored blocks, do this:

1) Mouseover the color of block you want to change to
2) Jump
3) While the guy's in midair, mouseover him.

That was something that got me the first time I played it, so hopefully that answers your question

A question I have of my own now, is what is the music that plays in the first level of the Hell World? I recognize it, and I've been looking for the song for some time now, but I don't know the name of it

This game is really great! I only have one, tiny little problem with it.

I thought this was great, although I think the control system is a bit confusing

Ew. Sound on the main page.

Aside from that, the game looks trippy. If I'm alone tomorrow (which I doubt) I'll look into playing it, but right now I'm stuck on the craptop (<=250MHZ)...

Seems to be a relatively unique idea though, so I'll give it a shot.

I see what you mean by some parts being quite difficult I'm up to the second level in the Hell World right now, and those levels are definitely hard Level 5 in the Holy World was pretty tedious as well though.

Anyways, as a whole, I think this game's quite good I can't say I've ever seen any other games with the same gameplay, etc., so nice work with the idea behind it. I haven't tested the custom music thing yet, as most of the default music (all except one song, actually ) is stuff I like

There's actually not much I can think of to comment on I will say though, that you've done (in my opinion) a really good job on this, and I like it

Great! I hope you enjoy it. Some parts are quite difficult, but don't give up!

A note about the check point charms-- the idea is to collect them while you are in both holy and hell forms; meaning you'll have to play through each level twice to finish the game 100%. You can die in the process of getting them if that makes it easier.

Thanks for the quick response That definitely does clear up the question I had.

I realize you're probably anxious to get comments on the game, so I'll give some after I play it for a bit

The "Read Me" that comes with the game will clear up pretty much everything, but I will explain it here for you anyway.

You have the basic idea. HELL Blocks (red) and HOLY Blocks (blue) can only be stood on if your character is the corresponding attribute. To transform, you must first pick up either the HOLY or HELL attribute with the mouse by running the cursor over it. Then, you must touch the character with the mouse to transform him. However, you can only transform in mid-air. (Try jumping onto the mouse cursor) Hope this helps. Check out the read me for further assistance.

(The tutorial that will soon be available on the site is in development. Sorry about that. =/)

This game looks pretty interesting, so I tried it, but I'm currently stuck at a part in the first level (that's pathetic, I know ), where there's three red boxes spaced out over a pit with nothing else in between them to jump on. Since I found out jumping on red boxes leads to death ,I tried looking in the Quick Help in the game to see if there was anything obvious I was missing, but that just gave me 4 pictures that didn't exactly give any information

I brushed up against one of those boxes near the beginning of the level, and the guy you play as turned red. I don't know if this is right or not, but I assume when you're red, you can stand on red boxes, and when you're blue, you can stand on the blue ones. Unfortuantely, I was unable to recrate what I did after that, so I wonder if it's something that you're supposed to do or not.

I tried looking on the site again, as the readme says there's a quick help guide there, but I wasn't able to find anything

So, my question would be, is there any chance you could give us a quick run down of the game basics (all I really know how to do so far is walk and jump ), or point out exactly where to find the help guide on your site? It'd be greatly appreciated

Er... Oh, jeez. Yeah, the link isn't working for some odd reason.

Edit: Okay! I set up a new WORKING mirror so there should be no problems!!! (If you don't see where it says "Mirror 2", hold down "Ctrl" and refresh the page.)

Hey Acmlm Boarders! I don't know if a lot of you remember me, I'm starting to show up here less and less, because... well... life is showing up more and more. I'm in the last semester of my senior year in high school, the beginning of my life in "the real world" is fast arriving!

... And so, I'll be going to college and striving for that ever-coveted career in the game development field. I can take the crunch time and the long hours in front of a computer-- making games is what I live to do.

Anyway, I've just completed a game that will likely serve in a job portfolio or virtual resum
