Hmmmmm...I was playing this last night briefly after school at my friends house. Boring battle system, bland look and nothing really to draw me in.

I -think- you need to have Cedric in your party at first.
I know it works on the world map though. |

I would cosplay as her, but yeaaaaaaaaaaah low on funds. But I have decided something - that pirates are wicked awesome and her other two pirate buddies...(I forget their names). I <3 them.
....Does R1 actually work? I tried everything (or at least I thought I did) but it didnt' seem to go any faster.  |

yeah, it moves slow... but that's what r1 is for~

Thank you Phil! I was wanting to create a thread about this but decided not to.
I like it. Not as good in the others as the series, but taken as it is, it's a pretty good game. I like the uniqueness of the "headquarters" being on a ship. And pirates? Hell yeah. It's got a pretty good plotline too. And I'm glad they're showing events that were referred to in Suikoden I (This is a prequel).
However, it has it's share of frustrations..
Can you say random battle every 5 seconds at the least? Yeah. 16 seconds at the most, I counted. XD Another thing that really gets on my nerves is when you're on the ocean. That ship moves so slow. X_x at least the ocean/sea runes you get that you can attach to the ship make it move...slightly..faster. All in all, pretty decent. I'm almost at the end but had to take a break because of my winter quarter research paper, which is due tomorrow.  So I can resume playing. |

I read quite a handful of mixed reviews from gamers over at suikosource, I'm still willing to give it a try.
I'm a huge fan of the original two, didn't enjoy III as much because the gameplay (battle system) was horrible.
I'll probably check this game out, but from reading over a lot of reviews and getting more info out of the game, I think I'll hold most of my excitement over for Xenosaga Episode II. |

This game rocks. Quite a solid RPG. Can't compare to the first two games in the series though.
Graphics are nice overall, the voice acting's great (save for Rita... DSJLKAJSDLAKSJD HATE), and the character designs kick ass (with plenty of good looking characters to keep both sexes happy  . <3 Ameria and Flare). I do miss the 6 person parties though. Can't do as many unites with 6 people 
Only gripe i have is the fact that the game is short. But the amount of extras and things you can do on your ship make up for that (Confessional, Bath scenes, the vast amount of minigames you can play, etc.)
Its another game one that's well worth the money. |
