ah i get it. I'm seriously drunk though, but now i rememeber.

excuse me while i sober up.

EDIT: Something tells me that dont work either. For example, Zapdos's TM set in sapphire:

00001100
01100011
11001001
10100001
01001001
01110010
00010011
00

and when searching for 0c63c9a1497213 (i assume thats right) i get nothing.

There are only 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

A bit is one 'digit' in binary, with either an on (1) or off (0) state.

The hex value 6D, is 01101101 in binary. Each of the '1's and '0's are bits.

meh, I suck at explaining this sort of stuff.

ah. I didn't see the word bit. so instead of 00 00 01 it would be 00 1X XX etc?

No, that's bytes. It's in bits. 8 bits make up a byte.

If ya mean like 00 00 01, that didnt work when i searched for it in a hex editor, unless theres extra 00s involved

Well, I'd rather have the data in one quick-to-access location, but here's fine too.

which you did. What I meant was using the hex editor to edit the TM/HM compatability list thats already in the rom. I know you can already edit the level up moves and such, but not the TM or the egg moves.

Hacking the editor through a hex editor?
Not only do I not think you will get permission to do this (at least as far as releasing a hacked version), but doing such a thing would require more work than actually coding support for it anyway. Good luck with that.

Is there a way to use a hex editor to change the TM compatability at least?

Not a chance. Insufficient data.

Just wondering if there was a tool that edits the TM/HM compatability of the pokemon in R/S (Fr/Lg as well if possible).
