BTW: The japanese Titles for PM and PM:TTYD were "Mario Story" (for PM) and "Paper Mario RPG" (for PM:TTYD). Just to confuse you more  |

I think it would have probably been Super Mario RPG 3, since Mario & Luigi was not named that. But really, its working title was Paper Mario 2.

While true, Paper Mario is not a sequel to Super Mario RPG; they are merely in the same genre and starring the same lead character. Mario and Luigi is different from the Paper Mario games and Super Mario RPG, and the Paper Mario games are different from Super Mario RPG and Mario and Luigi, and Super Mario RPG is different from Mario and Luigi and the Paper Mario games. |

Admiral Bobbery was a pretty poor partner, though. Plus, his moves are defined, while no one knows what the two Koopa_Myster99 is using have, so he doesn't have to worry too much about it. |
