Got it. I must say I am impressed. Fedora kicks ass. I dont think I will use Windows as much as I will use Linux.

Yes, but a lot of programs wouldn't realize this (or wouldn't do it unless you told them to), and would store the file itself on the disc, creating a new filesystem instead of using the one stored in the image. |

Precisely. The ISO is a bit-by-bit copy of the CD. No extraction necessary, it should be able to just write from the file as it goes. |

Burning the ISO image does not involve extraction of the files whatsoever. If you're program does that, it's doing an unnecessary step. |

You Can burn it as an ISO, well with deepburner you can, it burn it on there without having to do anything extra, and it works fine, I did it yesterday, only not with linux, but with a game. |

Er, you didn't just burn the ISO file itself to the CD did you? You have to open it with something like Nero, which will extract the files and burn them to the CD. |

If you don't know which key to press, just change you bios to boot with CD-ROMS by default, that's what I have mine set to. Do it, unless you tend to forget bootable CDs in your drive. |

Is your BIOS set up to boot from the CD-ROM?
Sometimes notebooks will make you press a key to boot from other drives. Like on my Toshiba, I have to press F12 to boot from the CD-ROM. |

Alright, well I have a notebook and I have 4 CD's of Linux "Fedora" and usually you are supposed to have the first dis in when starting up your computer. Well I did that and I got nothing but a normal boot up.:/ So I figured I was doing something wrong. Now do I have to open the ISO Image file with something? And if so what? I have no idea how to get this working and its being real gay. And yes I used partition magic 8.0 already.
Help please. |
