Well, now, hold on there. There's nothing wrong with a good ol' SMW level! I just depends on the creator to take it unto themself to make their hack unique. I, myself, for instance, am creating what is likely the one and only level that takes place on top of a fast moving train in my hack (Super Mario Place).
Good luck with your idea...I guess. Sounds kinda hard to me. |

I didn't specifically mean the shop, I meant the whole game, the levels in all hacks i've played are just long hard levels which have been made, I mean making levels which don't just have enemies in them, I mean like making a few levels on some worlds like villages where you go around and there are other things to do, like making a yoshi ask you to do a challenge, maybe you can't say NO but any way, then you are in like a little bonus game thing in the sky where you have to get passed all the little puzzles and stuff, and when you get to the end you go down a pipe into a room full of coins and stuff like that! Instead of just making long hard boring samy levels!
I WILL ADD SOME SHOTS SOON, I JUST GOTTA ADD SOME THINGS TO THE GFX AND STUFF!
It's just that hacks do get rather boring if each level is just a level harder than the next, and there's no mystery! I've made it so that you have to go around an Island looking for seven orbs, (those shiny ball things!) but you don't know what they ARE or what they DO! so the further you get in the game! The more you learn about them! I've only created a few simple levels at the moment!
I do agree though that Mario world is quite restricted to it's gameplay and stuff and you have to use code and stuff to do quite alot of things! |

That's what he plans to use the purple coins for in the demo he released a while back. It wasn't in the demo released yet, but purple coin counter was. |

True, that is weird behavior. But the idea is kind of cool. Can't say I haven't thought of the whole shop thing myself, before, though. I'm almost sure everyone has at least once.

I was thinking, because most hackers just edit the levels of SMW and maybe throw in a few new GFX, but the gameplay and Idea are basically the same, in my games, I try and create a very deep story line and make a game like Paper Mario 2, my current hack I am working on at the moment has this sort of story line and has alot of world where you must go around looking for clues! I've even created a shop where you can actually pay coins to buy items, I've only but a bouncing Yoshi behind the counter though. Maybe some of you others could do this as well, the games are much more fun to make!!! |
