Ok. Well, I actually only did the first 3 levels. That can get us started on a new hack whenever you feel the time would be good for that. Let me know what levels you would like to have done on your current hack and I'd be glad to throw a few together for you.

Right now we're not releasing this version until we get a few last bugs worked out with the 2-player mode. I'd be interested in seeing any levels you made, we still have a few un-edited levels in the hack as of now. Sloat (the other guy working on the ASM hacks with me) is going to release a new version of the level editor soon too.

Ok, I finally got it working. For some reason it didn't get up to full speed until I opened the map. But now it works fine. So where can I get this latest version you mentioned in your previous post? And will you do another cause I'd love to contribute towards it. I'm hoping there are others who would do the same.

here's some screenshots of a few new features we've added to the game.

Both players can now choose the same character in a 2 player game! If so, the first player's character will use a new palette. Unfortunatly there's still some bugs regarding points with this feature. In the third screenshot, you can see player 1 throwing the a weapon that was dummied out of the final version of the game that we brought back.

I programmed a new enemy, now you can make the vending machines attack the player with a barrage of soda. If the player blows up the machine, he's rewarded with a 6-pack.

In addition to these, your starting weapons and special items are now randomly picked by game, instead of always starting with 150 squirtgun shots and 1 health kit. Just thought it would make things a little more interesting. Most importantly, if you hold the select button, you can cycle through your weapon and item inventories backwards, which is extremely conveniant when you're being chased by a werewolf and need to find the silverware fast.

The ultimate zombies? But what if I want the prime zombies to eat my neighbors instead? I don't want the last ones that were left in the garbage all day. I want the ones fresh from the grave.

How bout a 2nd hack? I know I would be interested in submitting a few levels. I wanna hack this game but I feel I won't be ableto do 50 levels on my own. Find yourself a good hex editor or whatever and get the level names changed. Change up some of the text in the credit levels to include names of people who contributed to the game.

Well hopefully we can merge the new levels in your version with the new features in ours, and change all the level titles and have a full release. I sent you a PM with a link to our version.

That's OK. I was somewhat not satisfied not having all the levels edited back when... this has all the levels changed, though I'll readily admit that it's somewhat unpolished, namely with the titles being the same and the credit level being minimally changed.

Frank! Good to see you back! I know this should be a PM, but it contains info anyone interested in the hack should also know;

We've made more improvements to the game since the version of the hack that Frank has. There's a new weapon, and both players can choose the same character now (There's still a few bugs with that feature though.) Also we had a few people submit a couple new levels, and cleaned up some other bugs in the levels that I can't really remember right now. I kind of lost interest in the project and rom hacking in general, but since I see people are still interested in the zamn hack, I'm gonna try to clean up the latest version and release it within a week or so. I'll post screenshots sooner than that, too.

Ok, I got it working. The hack is working great. You no doubt put alot of work into it. So are you going to submit it to Zophars domain? I know I will put mine up there. They get hella lot of visitors to that site so...

You are probably patching to the wrong ROM. Or your ROM is corrupted or something.

This is one awsome ZAMN hack! I played this game to death on my SNES back in 1993. & this hack brings the replay value times 20! A very well designed hack indeed, very creative. Thanks Frank.

Hmm... neon white walls? Slowed down? This is new to me. I've tried the patch myself to check that it worked correctly, and it does. Not sure what the problem might be....

A hack that's been in the making for a long, long time. Or specifically, about 21 months. But it's here!

http://www.geocities.com/plinko50000/zamn.zip

Copy and paste, you know that drill. Many of the levels were made last year... then I hit a bit of a block, lack of more level ideas. Originally, this was a project with Stanley Decker, except I had disappeared from the Internet for a while, and then he disappeared, and in any event... well, that's then. This hack is now, here, and available for play.

The hack changes the 55 levels of the game. Different levels, same graphics, same objective: save the victims. Some new challenges await with the new levels, though....
