I loved TO on the star in Dallas only because he was *MURDERED* with that late hit. I'm not going to advocate late hits, but that one was GREAT. ![](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Technically it is unsportsmanlike conduct, but there's a difference between pulling a cell out and dropping the f-bomb a bit too often. |

I dont like this rule. I love getting to see them celebrate the way they do, its hilarious sometimes. Its great when I turn on sportscenter in the morning and I see TO has come up with something funny, and probably controversial. Celebrating is part of the game, I say leave it as is. |

Are you sure they don't do that in the NFL too?
Unsportsman like conduct?
And I thought college was just excessive celebration. |

Me? I think celebration without props is okay...but if you bring in a prop, then that is crossing the line...
As far as I know this call already exists...it is just like Taunting...
You're probably thinking of college ball. They have an unsportsmanlike conduct, "Too much celebration on the field." 15 yards on the kickoff - ouch! |

Yeah, they just drop a 15 yarder on them, but that's just in-game. |

Some things are stupid, and others are amusing.
There is nothing wrong with celebrating, and players do it all the time to pump up the fans. |

See, the ones people hated that I liked:
* TO celebrating on the star in Dallas. * TO grabbing the pom-poms from a cheerleader in San Francisco. * Chad Johnson's "PLEASE don't fine me again!" sign in Cincy.
Oh, and maybe Steve McKinney/David Carr mocking Joe Horn's cell phone celebration in Houston. Don't try to go to absurdist extremes, people.
I'm against automatic penalties in all cases, though. Let the refs use their discretion... more often than not, they'll call the right ones anyways. |
