I'm sick of the childish bullshit that people talk about. I must be the only one that doesn't enjoy playing games where the objective is to kill people and make money doing it, I'd rather kill imperial soldiers with the master sword (which doesn't seem to childish)... must just be me..
Four Swords Adventures had me hooked for a good month or so... the change in the gameplay (controlling four Links, only having one item at a time) seemed to be a refresher for the series and added a lot more possiblities with the puzzles... only problem with it is it seemed a bit too easy, I had about 60 some force fairies at the end and...

Too childish? That's ridicolous. It's a fun game, and it's not like Zelda is known for extreme violence either (which seems to be what attracts gamers who refuse to play something they deem chilish).
The gameplay is simple enough: You get a map on the TV, showing you the locations of pirates, and then you run around looking for the one carrying the lowest number on the GBA. Talk to him, and get 1-5 medals, depending on the type of pirate, whether you talked to him at the right time, and how many multiplier stars you have. Add in various items like Warp Balloons, mini games that will earn you more multiplier stars, special modes that will affect the map (like switching all the pirates, or showing their numbers on TV), and various other ways to get points.
A lot of fun for the entire family. Too bad you need a GBA and a GBA-GC-cable for each player. |

Not to end up making this a kind of back to back post(Look at the last posters), but from what I heard it seemed too childish, it might not of been that, but that's atleast what I heard. The graphics on the GCN used Wind Waker rendered graphics and you were hunting for stamps and stuff, could of been seen as some kind of children's scavenger hunt type thing... |

I hadn't heard that... Hmm. I dunno why they removed it, then. I would assume it was advantageous for some reason, but... |

At E3 they had a fully english Tetra's Trackers. Tetra refered to players by a letter they picked, like "Mr. P". I don't know why at all they didn't add it. I am hoping that they atleast add it to the next GCN Zelda as a bonus disk. |

You need to take him around to the other side, where the other imp is. Boomerang is not necessary. |

I would love to try it multiplayer. I have a GC to GBA cable (Work's well in Animal Crossing, and Wind Waker). But no one around has a GBA and cable I can play with. (Not sure if I should be doing this.) And Rydain maybe you can help... It's at Hyrule Castle I think... Where you "rescue" that one guy. And you can't get in the castle because of the electricshockvoltagecute'ing gate... |

You can play single-player GC Four Swords without the GBA. Whenever you go into one of the "sub" areas that is normally shown on the GBA, it appears on a small overlay window on the TV screen. You can press a button (Z, I think) to toggle that window. I played through the entire adventure mode using the normal GC controller. |

Never liked the GC/GBA linking as being mandatory however - if you don't have the portable, you can't have fun it seems. :\
Fully agreed ... and I don't think I'd exactly be willing to dish out about $90 just to get some "special" things for certain games, in using the connectivity. (GC Game + GBA Game + Link Cable)
But I don't even have a GBA, so I can't. |

Yeah, it does. I played a few rounds of the battle mode with the same people, and I liked it much better than multiplayer adventure mode. I never played the GBA game, but from your description of its multiplayer adventure mode, I think I would enjoy it. I guess they changed things around for the GC version because they wanted the main action to take place on the TV and "indoor" spaces to be shown on each person's GBA, and it would have gotten way too confusing to have the TV split into multiple screens so everyone could be in a different spot if necessary. They probably thought adventure mode would be more fun with a competitive aspect as well. (After all, beating up your friends makes them lose Force Gems...) |

the GBA four swords game is decent, provided you have somebody else to play it with. the thing i liked about its adventure mode is that you CANNOT hurt the other players unless you drop them into pits or something, so you are forced to cooperate sometimes to have any fun, and the world is huge so each person can do his own thing instead of clearing a dungeon screen by screen waiting for your friends to finish each other off before going to the next.
Originally posted by Rydain I actually prefer it in single player...but that's probably because the people I tried multiplayer with had to spend at least a couple of minutes beating the crap out of each other before moving onto the next screen.
and here lies the problem with the GC multiplayer adventure mode. with single player it is not bad, but in multiplayer, the way it's set up, especially with the attitude toward fighting between me and my friends, we couldn't get three screens into the dungeon without it turning into pure deathmatch. now all we play in multiplayer is shadow battle. makes a helluva lot more sense, don't it? |

It was originally planned to be like that, yeah, but then it was combined with Four Swords. |

You know, you're the only person I've seen who thinks Navi Trackers isn't complete and utter trash.
Anyway, the reason it was dumped is most likely because of the name you enter being synthesized and spoken by Tetra, something that would be relatively impossible to do in English.
Come on, would it be THAT complicated to have her yell "green Link", "red Link", ect. in english instead of whatever name you enter?
And I've met a lot of people who like Navi Trackers. Can't see why it would be that unpopular. |

What's worse than all of this?
- Only owning a DS, not a GBA. - Owning Four Swords
Why? It's literally impossible for me to get access to the Four Swords Dungeon in LttP, which was almost my entire intent of why I wanted the game in the first place.
Meh, oh well. LttP alone is still an awesome game regardless.
Edit: Oh the GC version? It looked cool. |

Unless you managed to glitch the game or something, don't restart. You might not actually need the boomerang for what you're doing. (I thought I needed a different item to kill a certain boss, so I redid the level...but it turns out that they had placed the correct item nearby and I wasn't using the proper technique against the boss.) If you do, there's either a way to get back to it or another boomerang item placed somewhere that you can reach it. |

Yeah The Cube version... It's almost like that old game... "Lost Vikings"... I hate that you have to pick up an item and drop the one your already carrying. I'm stuck in a part that I need the 'rang but can't get back to it... I'm thinking about restarting... It's pretty badass when you get all four Link's spin attack -fully- charged, and they go like into a berserker. |
