Jasukan: Yeah, I was going to change the boots to red eventually. I didn't like the idea at first but it grew on me.

iamhiro1112: I know they're supposed to be green, but due to the pallete restrictions they have to be grey.

ANNOUNCEMENT: This hack will be followed by another CV hack called-"CastleVania: DeNasty Dynasty" starring Grant from Castlevania 3.

The pungachis look good. They need a little more green tho. I think they are supposed to be green.

I have a theory about the firedemons in SOTN. I found an unused move where they would be buried underground with only their head sticking out. Then they bust out of the ground and lots of debri flies out. I'm guessing that perhaps the firedemons kept underground until you got close. You would see only their heads and then poof. A giant monster pops out. Well, I think that perhaps the fire demons are pungachis. Since you were originally only supposed to see thier heads and they shoot fire...Just like a Pungachi.

Looks very nice, I can't wait to play it. This hack looks very promising, maybe it'll even surpass Castlevania Retold and Fan Edition. My only minor suggestion is that Simon's boots look kinda weird and don't match with the rest of his sprite. They look like they are glowing red by being outlined in that color, maybe you should just color the boots themselves red and have it outlined black.

I'm one step ahead of you on the Fleamen. Here's the Final Fleamen changes:
Crumbling Tower- SotN Fleamen
Long Library- Baby Seed Pods
The Dark Corridor(and for the rest of the game)- SotN Fleamen

I made the Pungachi's for the Crumbling tower, but sadly I can only use it's head. The Bone Pillars use the same sprite for the top and bottom, even though there's space to make a bottom... lazy Konami

So here's how it will look:

A suggestion for enemy change would be to replace the hunchback with SOTN style fleamen. I prefer SOTN design to CV nes myself. How bout some Castlevania I and 2 gameboy Pungachi's in place of the bone pillars?

Very impressive. I like that you are changing the theme for all the levels.

If I knew the first thing about music, then yes, there would be something more Library-ish, ontop of the fact that I don't know the offsets of the music.
If anyone CAN hack the music in Castlevania let me know, I'd love to have a composer for this hack.

Kawa, I suppose it's three if you exclude the 'transparent'/'background' color. Just recently I was fiddling with the fonts in Bases Loaded and making use of all four colors (since a background isn't always necessary) so I'd been thinking of it as four.

Will the music be changing to something more library-ish? Seed pods give me a hankering to hear 'Lost Painting' again.

As for new enemies, how about a big flying sword in the chapel? That stage is horizontal, though, isn't it? So I guess enemies that thwart vertical jumps (as in SOTN) might not be so interesting.

Now could you somehow get those library enemies to drop an all-powerful Crissaegrim? ;

Sadly, the candles are all the same... but the enemies aren't!

I present to you:

SEED PODS!!

FLYING BOOKS!

I'm also taking requests for new enemies, so if you make a suggestion I like, you will get to see it in the hack. No boss replacements though, except for the mummies, they can be changed.

Dr. Mario -- Wow! I like that new 3-color font and the skulls!

Is the candlestick the same in all levels? It would be cool if the library stage had some kind of green-glass-covered 'desk lap' kind of candle.

Still looks great. I'm really looking forward to this hack.

Awesome! I love your GFX. You should go into game spriting, even though everything is turning 3D these days.

Well the library spans two floors of Dracula's Castle. The first floor is more like underground book storage, which we all know that for some reason Dracula's Castle's basement is always flooded. The second floor contains no gaps to fall through, and is more of an actual library (With stuff like high shelves, with ladders attached.) Sadly there is only so much space that I can use of the level's TSA, so this is pretty much as much of a background as I can get. If there is seperate vampire bat sprites I may change them into flying books of some sort.

Here's a shot of the Library's second floor:

There's less gaps between bookshelves on the 2nd floor, and no gaps in the floor.

Is that water under the library floor? That's a little bizarre. But the ideas of adding a library and chapel are pretty cool.

The library shouldn't really have any pits where you can fall to your doom. How about piles of books stacked on the floor with tables to climb on; living books coming out to attack you; gas lamps hanging from the walls?

I'm working on a new area for a FULL Castlevania hack (not just GFX). Instead of the Underground Caverns, and 2nd Castle Entrance, it's going to be The Lakeside Library and Chapel

Check 'em out:
