If your monitor is an LCD and is 15", it's native resolution is most likely at 1024x768; it will not support anything higher than this. Even if the monitor is new, there have not been any recent 15"s supporting a higher resolution.

By the way, if your monitor is an LCD, the refresh rate you set is irrelevant as LCDs work on the premise of response times, not refresh rates. 60Hz and 80Hz will not make a difference.

However, this is all on the assumption that your monitor is an LCD; if it is a CRT, then your monitor is quite messed.

For your 'loading screen freezing' issue, it will be advisable to pop in your Win CD and do a repair, as that would be the most efficient and simple method.

It did it, again It now did it on settings I've been using for a year. What the heck is going on?

As for other problem (freeze on login), I'm gonna try to find out why it does that but at least at least it doesn't take 2 minutes to reboot (like when I Was using Win98SE)

Well, try it anyway. Just turn it down to like 60 or something and change resolution, so you can see if that's the problem.

I'm used to say Mhz.... Of course my refresh rate is only in 85Hz.

I hate to make stupid mistake mistakes like that

That's one fuckin' fast monitor.

It's already off, as I don't use a screen saver.

On a random note, I just noticed to I wasn't using Virtual Memory. Better change that.

He just said it can. In order, I suggest you try these:

1) Lower the refresh rate. Mine can handle 1024x768 at 70hz fine, but only 60hz at 1280x1024. (Lucky for me, Windoze realizes this. )

2) Lower the colour depth. Same idea.

3) Re-install video drivers. They may have gone out of wack.

Right click on Desktop -> Properties -> Screen Saver -> "On Resume, display Welcome screen"

Turn it off.

Secondly, the black box that says "Sync. Out of Range", that's not your computer's fault. Your monitor cannot support resolutions higher than that. Stop trying.

And where would I find these options?

In case you're using XP, try to disable that thing that warps you back to the log in screen after certain events.

Heh, I've got some issues with it, again. Two things that annoy me:

1- When I nobody's been using the computer for awhile (1 hour or so) and I try to log in, the computer would randomly freeze (at the part where it says that my pesonnal parameters are loading.

2- When I got change screen resolutions, I'll get random "Sync . out of range" errors (which are basicly a black screen with a box in the middle.... and I MUST reboot). It does this for resolution that are higher than 1204x768 while I know those are supported (come on, the monitor isn't old).

If someone would help me, I'd gladly appreciate it.
