Which I find strange.
Personally, I'd keep the free trial if you registered and then decided to buy an expansion pack. Good business for EA there, since that might just mean the user could stick around in 2006.  |

Oh, and just a heads up:
"No charges will be made unless you decide to start subscribing to any of
the Anarchy Online expansion packs. The free trial is considered a purchase
unless you cancel before the free period is over at 1/1 - 2006. If you do
not cancel you will be billed in accordance with the recurring plan you
select in the registration, if you have chosen to enter your credit card
information."
Of course, if you want to play for free then why in god's name would you enter your credit card info? >) |

Considering how the game's going to be free for a year, I'd have to THINK it'll be pretty laggy with all the users who climb on board during the trial offer.
I might check it out... depends on what happens after Christmas, whether I can get WoW at the moment or not, etc. |

Well one year is one year... I guess it wont kill me to torrent it tonight and get my new video card in the morning to tryout on it. Now I just got to remember my User name by then and im ready to go. |

That's definently it's biggest flaw. 
And still, it seems to be pretty lagtastical at times.
Other than that I love the music, character customization, setting, etc. Just wish it was as user friendly as WoW.  |

I only have one problem with it, its the controls....a little bit awkward...but it just takes a little getting use to.. |

Yeah, I really like AO's setting and characters, but other than that the gameplay is a little chunky. I'd probably much rather play WoW, if I had the money.  |

Yes, you read the title right. You can register an account now, before January 15th to have access to play AO for free, until 2006. Although this doesn't include Shadowlands, this is free.
Definitely worth checking out, for those of you (many of us) who love free stuff. |
