yeah XP burns data, and Windows media Player burns Audio and Data...but my brother tried to burn some mp3's last night, and it messed up in both Nero and media Player...it was just those songs though, I tried other songs and it worked fine...so thats pretty weird.

XP can burn data CDs. I don't think it can do music though.

I would recommend Nero for people that just want it done quickly. However, I use cdrtools on both Windows and Linux... it's has more advanced controls, it's command-line, and not so great for people that want the job done quickly. If you're curious about cdrtools, get the Win32 port (original site went away) and read some docs.

I guess one advantage to cdrtools is that it is free

ok, if they dont get much better, then which is the best out of nero and alchohol?

since I got my new pc(yesterday) ive been looking for a good burning program, ive heard Nero, and Alchohol 120% are good ones, but anyone else got any better suggestions, if there is any better ones..free would be nice also..
