Well that explains why Trillian suddenly stopped logging in my secondary AIM account (no, I'm not telling you the name, only 1 person knows it) with an unknown error code.

At least my main one kept working, it would've sucked if it had stopped.

They've fixed my account, though... it would've been useful to have known this thread was here at the time XD

My current AIM name works fine, don't know about the other five...

Maybe I somehow escaped it by using Gaim instead of AOL's program. Or something.

Same for me; although my nickname doesn't fit for my old or new user name used in message boards, I built a small list of people I chat regularly. The server list is stored both on my computer and on the net using Miranda - so even IF it got misused, I'd notified all my contacts immediate

I'm still fine...logged on just now...this reminds me of another incident here dealing with accidental suspensions

I checked that I was able to log in after also seeing it on Slashdot. I figured I'd post it here though, just in case anybody is wondering why AIM hates them all of a sudden.

My account works.... but hopefully this will clear up some questions for anybody who is having trouble. I hear it's reasonably widespread, but I hope few people here are affected.

Yeah I saw it on slashdot earlier today, i'm still logged in into AIM so i'm not affected. Maybe it dosen't affect accounts that are logged on but still...

Considering that AIM is one of the biggest IM clients (i'm not sure if MSN have catch up), this gotta be fatal for some people.

This may possibly affect users outside of Hardware / Software, but it's probably best to post it here anyways.

AOL have stuffed up. They seem to have suspended a bunch of accounts.. by mistake. (D'oh!)

They are going to fix it... but... wow.

Anybody here affected?
