What? The end? I could but that wouldn't be very fair to the people that haven't beaten it yet, so I'll put it in spoiler tags:
Spoiler: You destroy the Dark Energy teleportation thing, but you have to get out of the Citadel as fast as possible. Unfortuantely, a giant explosion, well, explodes, and the screen freezes. You hear G-man talking, and he walks out from the center of the teleporter, and talks to you a bit (I won't say what quite yet), and then you appear in some void, still talking. He tells you that he gets off there, and walks out a door in the place you're in. Credits.
If that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, don't worry. It might sound like a horribly bad ending, but it's not, actually. I'll take some screenshots of the end later
Edit: Screenshots of the end. If you can't get to one or something, let me know and I'll re-upload it
Dr. Breen in his elevator bubble thing, going up to the Dark Energy teleporter Higher up in the same room. The bubble's started to rise At the top. The teleporter's been opened Boom G-Man's just walking out from the center. If you can't see him there, take a look at the next screenshot Better view. He's talking about what you've done, etc. He looks angry "In the meantime, Dr. Freeman, this is where I get off."
The last one's bigger than the rest, since it was a smaller filesize. Tinypic automatically resizes any pictures larger than 250Kb
Edit 2: If you're wondering why Alyx is just staying in the same position in the last few pictures, it's because after the explosion, it's like time stops. You can still move around, but very slowly. |

I hated the Follow Freeman part I liked the game more when you were on your own, and didn't have other people to take care of.
I finally beat the game last week sometime, but I wasn't going to post here, since this thread was so far down the list Right when I heard the 'Time, Mr. Freeman?' voice, it was pretty much 'I know who that is!' What are all the places you can see him (Gman) in the game though? I've found him in the following:
:: On TV inside one of the train cars in the first half hour or so of the game :: Up on a dock during Water Hazard. It's a tad hard to pinpoint exactly where, but he was up on the right :: After beating the flying things that attack after you're given the RPG, but before driving through the gate, he was just standing up on the second floor of a building. I took a screenshot of that one here. :: Somewhere during the Highway 17 area (I think) you could get out of your car, go up inside a house, and look through some sort of binoculars and see him talking to some other person.
windwaker: If, by chance your still stuck in the Sandtraps and the flying thing, you know you can get more ammo from the box on the back of your car, right? I found that out by accident when trying to get in it from behind |

And it's Nova Prospekt . |

What area are you in? Last I knew I was in the Sand Traps area, but now I think I'm soon going to be in Nova Prospect (or is is Prospekt?) Of course, I've been using the all guns cheat through the whole game so far

I wonder why someone would buy a game just for the online play part of it You're most likely not going to get a whole lot out of the single player part, which is what you're paying most of the money you spend for. I'm not really one for playing games online though. The only ones I've done are Age of Empires and about 30 seconds of Counter Strike at a friend's house
Everyone likes different stuff though. |

Eh, I thought it was called the gravity gun.

That gun + the sawblades you can find lying around = death to almost all the zombies in the area I just did (Ravenholm ) Either the sawblade or the explosive barrels work nicely
I just discovered I'm able to alt-tab out of the game, and still have things run smoothly, so now I don't have to quit the thing and have to wait for 5 minutes for it to start again if I want to check if anything new's been posted here ) |

You should know exactly what the manipulator gun is.
It's the gun that you use to ... pickup almost any kind of object and throw them at people. Totally awesome, shows off the incredible physics in this game.
Just wait until you get the upgraded "Gravity Gun" at the end. |

Have you gotten the Manipulator gun yet WW? Give me that gun, and I'd play through the entire game with it.
I don't know the names (but I think I have every gun). I'm at highway 17, or the sandtraps (I'm getting attacked by this alien flying thing, ugh). I'm > half way through the game, though the story is still unknown to me (I hear it tells all of it at the near end). |

Well, here's the minimum / recommended system requirements if you didn't know them already:
Minimum System Configuration 1.2 GHz Processor 256MB RAM DirectX 7 capable graphics card Windows 2000/XP/ME/98 Mouse Keyboard Internet Connection
Preferred System Configuration 2.4 GHz Processor 512MB RAM DirectX 9 capable graphics card 256mb Windows 2000/XP/ME/98 Mouse Keyboard Internet Connection
I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to play the game. Except for the RAM, you've got the exact same stuff as I do |

Hmm, well from reading your posts it sounds like I'd be able to play the game decently too.
I have: Anthlon 2400+ (2.0 ghz) GeForce FX 5200 768 DDRam
That's been my biggest concern for me about actually getting this game, the quality of what I'd be able to play at.

Well, everything's working fine in the game for me right now. The loading time when I first start it up is a bit long (3-4 minutes ) The only things our computer doesn't meet the recommended requirements on is Processor Speed and Video RAM (we have a 2GHz processor, and a 128Mb video card), but after the initial load, things work well, except when I come to a place in the game where it has to load a new area
Anyways, I'm up to either somewhere near the middle, or somewhere near the end of the 'Water Hazard' area right now. I had to get the god cheat working a couple areas back, or I would've died from those flying saw robot things (hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about).
I don't know much, if any of the story right now. All I know is that I'm trying to get to Black Mesa, and that I'm considered an enemy by practically everyone in the city How far are you in it, windwaker? |

I have an http link to the 1.5GB version (split RAR files) if you want it .
The system recommended requirements are just if you want the game to run at all "medium" settings, I'm sure you'd be fine. |

I wanted to play it, but I wasn't going to wait for 4Gb to get done downloading, if you get what I'm saying I thought about getting it, but there's much more stuff I want to buy before that.
Our computer's just slightly under the recommended requirements, so I wouldn't expect extremely good performance either
To compensate, I've been playing Opposing Force, Blue Shift, and the Game of the Year edition a lot lately |

I've been playing a lot of HL2 lately. It rules, a lot a lot a lot. The physics are amazing, the framerate is sweeeeet, and the story is... not known to me at this point, they reveal more to you as the game progresses.
Has anyone else been playing it? |
