I'll agree with HH here... I wouldn't trust any of the Microsoft partitioning stuff. |

I think the problem here was that you trusted a Microsoft program with sensitive information like partition tables. |

That's never happened to me before (though I do have a linux partition).
Please, tell me, what program(s) did you use? |

...Gates. Today I wanted to use window$ XP's MMC plugin to remove my old broken Linux swap partition from my HD (since I bought a second one, which I wanted to feed with Linux). What did Windows do? What do you think? Of course, it eliminated my extended partition. What else. As a result, I spent all the evening trying to get some dubious partition recovery tools working, risking all the 35 GB of files I collected within 7 years of work to be lost. At last, I am back. And my hatred for Billy-Boy of Micro$oft has grown. Someone pwn him please ^^
