I don't use it, but here's why some do.
* Because it's what WMP does by default.
* Roughly equivalent sound quality at smaller bitrates (just handles different frequencies better... I forget which is which, but one doesn't like bass and the other don't take too kindly to treble).
* Because they hate you and the concept of "fair use". (Content providers only.)
Gimme MP3 any day, twice on Sundays, anywhere you want to. :> |

Dunno. I don't like them, but it's in this format that Windows Media Player transform my CDs.
Well then just use another program :p I have Winamp5 rip 'em for me. |

iTunes, the iPod's preferred jukebox software, can automatically convert WMA files that have not been applied DRM to (which most WMAs unfortunately have due to it being default in Windows Media Player). |

"Or just use Winamp, download this plug-in, copy it to the plugins directory, and switch your output plugin to the out lame plugin. Then play your WMA file." |

Goldwave supports MP3's (you'll need LAME to save) and OGGs - unfortunately, it's shareware. |

I don't know a whole lot about iPods, except for the fact that they're MP3 players 
I was able to find this program, for converting WMA to MP3. If anyone knows of a better one, feel free to suggest it, since that was the first free (I hope) one I could find with google 
I wasn't able to find anything about OGG support, as in most sites didn't say it supported that file format, so unless things have changed recently, you're out of luck there. |

Hey me here again with another old Hardware Question :-D.
Anyway I was thinking of getting myself a 20GB iPod this year. Then I am researching them up alittle bit and they don't support WMAs > . Where can I download a program to convert my WMAs to MP3s. Also does the iPod support OGGs? And do any of you that have owned or do own a ipod suggest on getting one?
I was thinking of maybe purchasing this instead,
