There's that but I was thinking of something else. Near the beginning of Sky Rail there's a girder you could walk up off to one side, but the camera will just NOT let you do it. |

(Dunno why the music would go funny... Maybe trying to play a Mario voice and screwing up due to the unusual situation?)

Just try to go up a path you're not supposed to be able to.
Please provide an example, I've never had something like that happen. |

Sonic Adventure 2 for Gamecube is not much better. Just try to go up a path you're not supposed to be able to. You literally have to move the camera back EVERY SECOND. It is incredibly annoying! (The Sonic games seem to be designed to be like a virtual roller coaster, with pre-set paths that you pretty much have to follow. Which gets way annoying sometimes. ) |

On Super Mario 64, Mario fell off a cliff in the thwomp place. He then got stuck partially under the floor, which had water on it. Then the music began randomly playing from across the entire game, including pieces of static, all of it mishmashed together in slow motion.
I'm sure my Super Mario 64 kart was posessed by a demon... until I accidentally gave it to Blockbuster for free... |

Oh yeah and i remember a really cool bug in "Yellow" that let you catch uncatchable pokemon like Mew, Gengar, Electabuzz, Magmar in the wild! This also let you see Missingno. except that 90% of the time that you encountered him, he'd stuff up the game. (But never the Save Game!) |

In the GBA Zelda: A Link to the Past, every time you throw a pot into a pit, it makes the breaking sound |

I loved that bug , don't know how it could have possibly destroyed a ROM .
Eh, I thought it only could destroy the save RAM. Which can be fatal if it's screwed up in a strange way.

What I meant about the games being destroyed was that they use an MBC1 memory controller, which seems to be very weak (I've had about 5 of them blow already), and a glitch such as this could end up burning it out.
BTW thanks for the name info. If only it had been several years earlier. (BTW, the move was 'TM44'; it did act like Selfdestruct but then the game crashed and erased the saved file.) |

Anyone remember that strange bug in Zelda II? There is one town later on in the game, you have to go through some mountain stage to get there (don't remember the name). Now, walk to the second part of the town. Then, change yourself into a fairy and fly high in the sky. Now keep flying to the left. You'll see a part of a door in the sky, enter and you'll fall down like if you'd fall into a pit. You'll be in the town again, but the whole world be glitchy from now on, with strange people saying strange things and grass being water and that kinda stuff...

Eh? The door is the same door that's on the "true" side. It can be activated from both sides, y'see.

Originally posted by HyperHacker Mario 64 Black Room Of Death Just some bad collision detection. The purpose of that room is so that when you open the door, you see blackness instead of water and the walls of the castle (as the castle on the outside map is actually hollow). There's some other collision detection bugs on the roof too. You can walk through the back flagpole things, and if you go as far as possible to the back right corner, hang off, and climb back up, you go through the invisible barrier and end up out of bounds, at which point the game removes your hat and kills you. Also the reason you can get out is that there's just no hit detection on that side of the wall. The real question is why there IS any on the one outside.
Then why is their a door in there?

Mweheheh... Dammit, ethical problem. I want to beat the everliving hell out of this cheater I know later on but is it really worth it to get lots of Mewtwos and rare candy them to level 255? |
