I was always a fan of changing the prompt in the autoexec.bat file so it read "Not ready reading drive (Drive you were on), Abort, Retry, Fail?"

Of course I'd format it correctly.

As a random aside, a sealed copy of DOS 1.1 goes for roughly $1K. Yes, I'm serious.

But yeah, why does it have to be 3.X specifically?

God, I might still have the the small but thick manual that came with it. Hell, that was the reason I learned how to make menued batch files when I was 10.

runit.bat:
@echo off
cls
echo OMFG!! I HAXX0RZ J00 LOLOLOLOL
runit

Which is fun until someone gets smart and hits CTRL+C.

it is against the rules to ask for software but for something like this I believe it is okay--better than asking for photoshop and similar software that IS available.

but anyways, i do have MS-DOS 3.3--but it is in 5.25" form...until I can find a 5.25" drive...let me see what I can come up with...

Why must it be 3.x? The kernel remained almost unchanged from 3.3 - 6.22. But... bootdisk.com has links to MS-DOS 3.3 boot disks. It's not the set up disks, but it's still MS-DOS.

I hope it's not against the rules but I would like to ask if anyone has MS-DOS 3.x and if you eventually will share it. I need it for a little "project". And it HAS to be version 3.x.
