Janus: "It's a crappy song, too. I much prefer the japanese theme. But then..."

Janus moved, light on his feet, from hallway to hallway throughout the school. He knew that if he trailed Kirby, he'd eventually be able to find his way to the grounds, but he also knew that Slytherins weren't exactly supposed to be seen with Gryffindors or else they'd have some kind of holy grudge placed against them by the whole of the House. Janus really liked rave parties, too. A hop, a skip, and a few anime-blur-tool-abusing jumps later, and he was out on the grounds. Slipping ahead of Kirby during the middle of the trip was the hardest part, especially since Janus didn't know the grounds too well.

"Hrm, time to cheat, I guess..."

He reached into Satchel (much to the wishing-to-remain-inconspicuous bag's chagrin) and pulled out a small, square, but strangely purplish-see-through cartridge. He passed it in front of his eyes, which glowed blue for a few seconds, and winced in pain.

"Gah! My eyes!"

Satchel: "Nah-uh. Not today, Jay. You're gonna do this the hard way, whether you like it or not."

Janus: "A flash cart... you bastard..."

Attempting to scan a blank game would only draw a blank in one's mind... Which left Janus back at square one. Seeing Kirby dash out the door, he took a social risk and threw the notion of acceptance out the window in favor of learning to fly.

"Gr, fine... Damn this, I can already fly, what am I doing this for?"

Satchel: "Continuity!"

Janus: "....."

He ran after Kirby, closing in due to his longer legs and anime-like speed, and jogged alongside the spike-headed kid with ease and pace.

"H-hey! Flying lessons are this way, r-right?"

Kirby: Huff huff huff.. Gotta make it.. Gotta make it.. Gotta go fast.. Gotta go faster. Faster. Fa-- Gack! Wait, that's not a song that's even around in this time frame.

--------

OoC Kirby: OW! Why'd you hit me?

OoC Ka'nae: You're pointlessly breaking the wall and time and stuff.

OoC Kirby: You still didn't have to hit me..

-----------

Kirby eventually found a hallway that led to a path outside of the school.

Kirby: Where... oh where could... Hm?

He looks up in the sky and noticed a firery colored bird in the sky. He remember the stories about some bird guiding someone to safety, so, he figured he should follow it.

Madam Hooch: ... Why are there so many missing students?

Meanwhile, on a smooth, flat lawn near the forbidden forest, most of the Gryffindors and Slytherins were already waiting. Twenty or so broomsticks lay in neat lines on the ground.

Guts was obviously excited, barely able to keep still. However, Fem seemed quite nervous, and was even sweating.

On the other side, Billy and Kidd were also excited, though not as much as Guts. They were both smiling. Popodey, on the other hand, looked down at the brooms with an annoyed expression on his face.

Popodey: *thinking* ~How troublesome... having to use such a thing to fly.~

Almost as if he sensed the glance from Popodey, the black haired boy shifted his head to the side, and looked back at Popodey through a long strand of hair. There was no emotion given in the look.

The boy then looked back out the window.

Meanwhile...

Kirby: Let's see... wand.. Aha. Wand.

Kirby pulled out his wand and began to twirl it around with ease between his fingers. He looked around making sure the teacher didn't catch him.

Much later....

Kirby was walking down the halls, trying to figure out where his next class was located.

Kirby: Some flying class...Hm.... I imagine it'd be in some open place... But I thought they said we couldn't really go trekking out too far... Arrrgggh... I'm gonna be laaaate.

In the back, near the window guy, Popodey pulled out his wand as commanded. On either side of him, Billy and Kidd did the same.

Billy: Finally, we get to do something.

Popodey: Don't get too excited. We'll probably start of with something like turning buttons into beetles or paperclips into cockroaches or something.

Billy: Feh.

Popodey glanced over at the Slytherin staring out the window.

Popodey: *thinking* ~That must be the other new guy... The one that never came to the dorms last night. I'm getting a strange vibe coming from him... And I can't sense his thoughts... ~

((Alright, time to do something for the Slytherin side, seeing as how few people can come up with something on their own ))

While the Gryffindors subconciously sat together in the front of the class, the Slytherins congregated in the back rows. Whether it was a typical thing children with problems do, it made no difference with the boy in the corner closest to the window. Long, black hair hung from the boy's school hat, which hid most of his facial features. The boy let out a sigh as he glanced at the window.

Kirby didn't realize that the class was a mixed house class, nor would it really matter to the story if he knew.

Kirby: Warning noted ma'am.

Professor McGonagall eyed Kirby, immediately marking him to be someone to keep an eye on.

McGonagall: If you had noted it, why did you speak?

Kirby: ... Uh... er... huh?

McGonagall: No matter... Everyone, please take out your wands.

Fem: *still thinking* ~I must do my absolute best in this class... Perhaps through tranfiguration I can do something about.... those...~

Fem's supsicions were proven to be justified as the cat leapt forward and took the form of an elderly woman with a tight bun in her hair. Nakase had jumped back, with a slight streak of red running across her face. Kirby's jaw felt like it wanted to unhinge. While it was something he's seen plenty of times in his life before, something about it seemed to surprise him...

Kirby: *thinking* ~Was it in her blood, or.. is it possible for anyone..~

------------------------

Nakase didn't know what to say. All she knew was she was shocked and fascinated. Being able to transform into an animal... Her mind started to wander a bit.

"As I appreciate petting, Miss Hikari, I prefer to see you seated"

The girl's mind was snapped back to this world.

"Y-yes, ma'am."

She nervously power walked to the closest seat from the center, not paying attention to anything but the fact that it was an empty chair. Nakase immediately cursed the person who had taken away her years, blaming him for her humiliation.

-----------------------------

Kirby: Aachoo!

-----------------------------

"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts", said McGonagall, as she slowly stepped through the center aisle. "Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."

Not far from where Kirby chose to sit, Fem was staring intently at the cat on the desk. There was something... odd about it. Perhaps it was the markings around its eyes that resembled glasses.

Fem: *thinking* ~Wasn't there an advanced form of Transfiguration mentioned in one of those books I read... something about turning into an animal? I wonder...~

((Alright... I don't care if this looks like a halfass job, I want this thing to liiiiive! ))

It was finally time for the first class of the day. Kirby had managed to find his first class, Transfiguration, without being late. He opened up the giant door, and scooted inside. He looked around and noticed there were a few students scattered around the desks, and a kitty sitting at the front desk. He also noticed the girl who he kept having bad dealings with petting the cat.

Kirby: Guess teachers don't wait in the classes before the class begins... Hum.. Let's see...

Kirby walks over to a random empty desk in the front.

Guts, meanwhile, was eating his breakfast at such a rate that when McGonagall handed him his schedule, he almost shoved it down his gullet as well.

Almost as soon as Kirby sat down to begin his meal, a certain Deputy Headmistress appeared behind the spikey headed lad.

Kirby looked up and noticed Professor McGonagall handed him a parchment with his schedule. He thanked her and smiled. He looked at classes that he was getting. A sweatdrop rolled down his head.

Kirby: ... This is a ten yearold's schedule?! Maybe I won't be adjusted to a Brittish schooling system

((Don't mind if anyone wants to jump to the first class))

Umino: I'm enjoying the school year thus far.

Umino said this moments before he took a huge bite out of your general egg, bacon, cheese, and English muffin breakfast sandwich, a huge lump trailing down his throat before he emptied a glass of orange juice and tore into a Belgian waffle. He was the only teacher at the head table at the moment, and only a few students had came down for breakfast at that point.

"Oh! Yes, of course it's my bed!", Nakase said, with a nervous laugh in her voice.

She walked up to her bed and picked up her clothes. She glanced over at her books. In the meantime, a little spirit-like dragon decided to perch on her right shoulder.

"Don't you think this is strange?", Ka'nae quietly hissed into Nakase's ear.

The girl didn't respond. She, too, was wondering why she had such a smooth entry into the school, when...

"I like the red sparks my wand sends out!"

Ka'nae was so shocked from Nakase's outburst that he nearly fell off her shoulder. He flared out a tiny flame puff of somke and shook his head.

"You're getting a little too comfortable with this place, Nakase. You're not changing, are you?"

"Of course I am. I don't want to walk around in these huge robes!"

Ka'nae couldn't take it any longer. He fell off of Nakase's shoulder and did a faceplant onto the bed.

"I.. didn't mean that... ". Ka'nae was still whispering. "What about the boy?"

It was at that moment Nakase's carefree visage faded into a disgruntled one. She looked down and let out a sigh.

Kim Yeo, who had the bed across from Nakase's, stepped out from behind her four-poster bed. She had already cleaned herself up, made up her bed, and was ready in her robes for the first day of school.

Kim: Yes, that is you' bed.

She spoke softly and still had a strong hint of asian in her accent.

Kim: Umm ...

Kim wanted to ask Nakase about where she'd been all night, but thought it unwise.

Kim: You might want to hurry, Nakase. It is about time fo' breakfast to start.

Up with the sun, Janus supposed... But this really was a stretch.

Billy and Popodey were still asleep as Janus lay in his bed, completely unable to get back to sleep after having woken up, his required sleeping hours finished in their entirety. The four poster, clearly designed for a ten-year-old boy, was about a foot too small for him, and somehow he knew that complaining about this to the head of the House would probably get him in some unknown trouble, be it with the rest of the students or with the Housemaster himself.

That Snape fellow... There was good in him, and there was bad in him, that was for sure. He was someone a balanced person could look up to, at least upon first impressions.

The plainest matter was that he was stuck. Stuck in Slytherin for however long he decided to stay here, and he knew he needed to stay for a good, long time or else he'd never learn a thing about magic.

Oddly enough, as early as he had awoken, it apparently wasn't early enough for the rest of Slytherin House, the common room of which buzzed with activity. It appeared as though the dormitories were somehow, through the use of some arcane technique, completely soundproof, as Janus was driven even further from sleep by a pulsating beat that grew louder as he descended each stair...

Janus trudged from his bed into the room, only to see about half of the house up and about, practicing curses and hexes, engaging in strange, hedonistic acts, and more or less having an all-out rave. And at four in the morning, too. Someone had magically rigged a set of disco balls onto the common room ceiling, and magically-generated light and music blasted here, there, and everywhere.

Janus had a sneaking suspicion that very few, if any, Slytherin students actually slept, which would certainly explain the pale, gothy look many of them sported. If this was the Sorting Hat's idea of getting in touch with his evil side, then Janus had a slight feeling he wouldn't have much of a problem fitting in.

Kirby: The name's Kirby, not Tom!

Not realizing Fred and George was gone, Kirby slowly pushed himself off of the floor. He staggers a bit before gaining his balance.

Kirby: She just dropped-- Wait.. they're gone.. Oi..

He looked at the coat in his hand. How was he gonna give it to her?

Kirby: I'll just hang it over here. She'll spot it when she comes down. *nod nod*

He started walking down the stairs to the common room. However, the Weasly twins' words echoed in his head. "I'd like to see a boy actually make it up those stairs, to say the least."

It felt like a challenge. All of a sudden, Kirby's face started to become red. He realized that it was the girls dormitories at the top of those stairs, and why they had called him a Peeping Tom. He started to grumble all the way to the Great Hall.

Teddylot shuffled down the stairs from the boys' dormitory. He took the stairs one step at a time, not wanting to trip over the front of his cleanly, new robes, while other Gryffindor boys flew by him, taking the stairs with a few big leaps. Eventually, he finally made it to the landing which seperated the boys' stairs from the girls'. Teddylot replied to Kirby, who was laying at the bottom of the ladies' stairs, with an "Alright, I won't." and then stared at his fallen friend for a few moments.

Leaping from the very top of the stairs, the two Weasly twins, whom Teddylot had met on the Hogwarts Express, landed right next to their furry friend. They took one look at the fallen Kirby and broke out laughing.

Fred: Looks like we have a Peeping Tom on our hands, huh George?

George: We sure do. *to Kirby* Hey, aren't you too young to be peeping around the girl's room?

Fred: Yeah ... Besides, I'd like to see a boy actually make it up those stairs, to say the least.

George: Of course, that's certainly not the only way to get in, mind you.

Teddylot: How would you know?

Fred: Oh, that would be our little secret.

George: And as it's a secret, we won't be likely to fill that hungry little face of yours.

Fred: Very well, off we go then?

Fred and George were obviously keen on moving away from the subject. They pushed Teddylot forward a bit, insisting that he join them, which resulted in the tiny bear falling down the length of the stairs. The twins winced, but were relieved when Teddylot popped up, big smile on his face, without a mark on him.

George: See you in the Great Hall, Tom.

Fred: You might want to try moving before some of the girls start coming down the stairs, you know?

George: That's right. They might start unfounded rumors about you. They do that a lot as crazy as they are. *winks*

So George and Fred hopped down the stairs after Teddylot, then marched out through the portrait hole.

"I can finally fly!"

Ka'nae hovered around the dorm as soon as Nakase rushed in. The brunette's face was still flushed from the embarassment of realizing she slept out in the common room. As soon as she caught her breath, she looked around the room behind Fem.

"Oh, why didn't I fall alseep here?", groaned Nakase. The four poster beds did seem more appealing than the outside sofas. She noticed that there was an empty bed near the window. There were books stacked on its side, yet it showed no sign of someone even sleeping on the bed.

A faint smile grew on the girl's face. She knew she shouldn't have assumed, but she couldn't help but feel like that was her bed, and those were her books. Perhaps the books came from the same place as her wand...

She slowly approached bed, and noticed that there was a set of clothes. Nakase glanced around the room again.

"Erm.. There was no one sleeping here, right?

Kirby: *still laying on the floor* Don't mind me. Reeeeally.

Fem, having heard Kirb's loud descent as she was getting ready, had poked her head out of the girls' dorms and was looking down the slide that had once been stairs.

Fem: What the...?

----------

Guts, like Zap, also arrived in the Great Hall before most everyone else. However, this was less because of his eagerness to learn, but his eagerness to eat.

Guts: Breakfast!
