So did I. Just a fun game... easy, yeah, but once you got to the Treasure Hunt things picked up. That was a FUN section.

I'd agree on Kirby 64 - the power system was innovative, but not every combination was useful. Plus you only had a handful of them... So yeah.

Then again, imagine having 12 powers with that system. Chaos.

I actually got 100% in Kirby Super Star. This was before I knew GameFAQs existed (and it might not have even had a FAQ for the game anyway)...so I posted on rec.games.video.nintendo asking where the last few items were, and somebody was kind enough to help me. Years later, the crappy messed-up power switch on Rando's SNES ate my save. Was I ever mad.

Anyway, I hope this game turns out to be awesome. Kirby 64 was OK, I guess, but it didn't hold my interest like Kirby's Adventure or Kirby Super Star. It just seemed much more sparse for some reason. Its power-melding system was interesting and creative, but it wasn't quite the same as having tons of different named powers and being able to spawn helpers (which was fun and provided an interesting element of strategy - for instance, you can't breathe fire underwater, but a Burnin' Leo can, so you can use one as a helper to light an underwater fuse).

*whacks Colin on the head with a newspaper* Shush. Don't jinx it

But yeah.. I seriously hope that it's got the KSS helper system.. or even something like the Dreamland 3 system is good enough.

And cpubasic13... Try using your memory a bit more.. Meta Knight helps Kirby out in the Amazing Mirror

But Meta-Knight is a good guy. He's always been a good time, save for when he was possessed by Dark Matter (in Revenge of Meta-Knight, one of the stories in Kirby Super Star).

Y'know what'd kick ass, is if this was like a 3D version of Amazing Mirror.

I am praying that the multiplayer is co-op, atleast like the GBA games, though I myself hope they bring back the KSS helper system.

I'd guess multi-player would be in a mini-game/battle mode vein. Actually, there could be some fun mini-game challenges... Kill the most monsters in X minutes?

The graphics (at the moment) could use more kick, but if the gameplay is solid there shouldn't be many complaints.

*cheers*

ITS ABOUT TIME! I have been waiting for a better 3D Kirby game for too long. I have yet to be dissappointed with a single Kirby game yet (I have been playing Kirby since his debut on the Game Boy), and this will not be an exception... unless they make the story around the Kirby show. *shudders at the thought*

They better not make the story like that of the show. The show is... not Kirby. Kirby should be fighting Whispy and Meta-Knight, not be friends with them...

Multi-player will hopefully be good. Either co-op or maybe even battle mode (mmmmm... battle mode...).

As for the graphics, they are not ultra-relistic or incredibly detailed, but this is a Kirby game, therefore, graphics should remain as simple as possible.

Oh, and if you want a cell-shaded Kirby, play SSBM and copy G&W. Just imagine him pink.
...well, if they do use the same model as Air Ride, they are using the same model from SSBM...

I was thinking the same thing myself.

I think having two Kirbys (Kirbies?) playing at the same time wouldn't be very fun, but I remember seeing in another Kirby game, some rat-thing that was friendly. What if one player was Kirby, and the other was the Rat. Kirby could swallow the Rat and use him to hit switches or something that are otherwise unreachable, and the Rat could dig tunnels to get past obstacles

I don't know what you're talking about, but in Kirby Superstar when Kirby had an ability, he could sort of spit it out in the form of an ally (which would be an "enemy" that normally has that ability, like with the beam it's waddle doo (the cycloptic waddle dee)) that was computer controlled until someone started pressing buttons on controller 2 (causing them to take over).

In Kirby's Dreamland 3 there was Gooey... Also computer controlled. He could copy abilities and such like Kirby, though he uses a tongue to eat enemies instead of lung power. He could use the friends (Rick, Coo, Pitch, etc.) like Kirby, but only one could use a friend at a time. Also notable that having Gooey out shortned Kirby's life bar by one notch.

Edit: This just in! Four player gameplay confirmed!

Kirby Superstar is one of the greatest games ever made. If this game comes even close to it, I'll be glad I own a gamecube.

However, I didn't really like Kirby 64, so I'm hoping this doesn't turn out like it at the same time. If they combined the power-melding system with the helper system, that'd kick ass, cause you could have like helpers that would look totally awesome with melded powers.

And they gotta bring back TAC, the Hammer, Yoyo, and the Jet abilities. I miss those sorely. And classic Cutter, the cutter power from Kirby 64 was just bad, although it was pretty neat when combined with Stone.

Heh, I hadn't played Superstar for awhile now. So yeah, someday we could.

At least I'm a little more excited for that announcement than Mario Baseball.
Heh, I did play a baseball game for SNES. Thought Baseball is not big worldwide, it's big in Japan, USA and a few other countries. But not other countries. So I do really wonder if they would release that game here.

That he floats together with a waddle-dee kinda suggests coop, but it could just be an enemy...

Huh? Mario Baseball? Haven't seen anything about that one yet It sounds quite... thrilling. I think that's a good word for it

Same as Ziffski, I'm looking forward to the new Zelda more than any other game right now This looks like it might be fun to rent once it's released, and Blockbuster puts a full week rental sticker on it (which, knowing them, won't be for a couple years after it's release )

Hmm. I suppose it's best not to go into too much detail, since there could be no multiplayer at all, but it's fun to think about what there could be.

HyperHacker: GameSpot has the same screens here, so you can take a look at that if the other site isn't working for you

As much as this game is going to rule for fans...The new Zelda looks to be the most beautiful game...ever.

It needs a large world. A large, open-ended, secret-riddled world. That's it.

At least I'm a little more excited for that announcement than Mario Baseball.

I'm thinking they are reusing Air Ride enemy models, which probably were low poly to allow faster racing and better looking courses. And if they add multiplayer co-op........ I don't know what I'm supposed to do to show that much joy.

...Well, it looks sexy.

I'm hoping it is to Kirby what Shattered Soldier was to Contra.

I'd imagine the graphics will get a boost before the final version. Right now it looks like they're using the same Kirby model as in SSBM.

Yet another game I must have the day it comes out...

The graphics are not world changing... but they make kirby look oh-so-pink

Now all it needs is one heck of a storyline and gameplay and... *drools*
