Now your talking Rebecca. Even if its a demo I am definately wanting to play that. BTW, I never meant to say that turning enemies into coins via fireballs was realistic. You may have misread my post or I didnt' make myself clear enough. |

How are enemies turning into coins "reaslistic" anyways? Realistically they'd catch afire and burn to a crisp
Anyways, Im working on getting a hack that turns enemies into coins via fireballs at the moment. I may have it ready into for a Thanksgiving release . |

I might have went overboard with the slander. But realism (on at least some level) is a good addition to any game. There are even several "real" aspects to Mario already:
- Koopa Troopas actually kind of look like turtles. - Mario actually kind of looks human - Fire melts ice blocks - Mario swims in the water - Gravity pulls Mario to the ground
When there's a game that has a green and orange blob floating through a mystery land that may or may not exist in order to collect magical items that are completely shapeless... then I can see how adding something realistic might get so easily dismissed.
So no. Trashy didn't have a point. He was just being a wise-ass
Yeah I'm probably being overly bitter for some reason. I don't quite understand why myself. For some reason this post really hit a nerve. |

Riiiiight.
There's nothing wrong with adding a bit of realistic flavor to a video game.
More realistic graphics can give the game more appeal. More realistic map themes can give the game a better atmosphere More realistic physics can improve control. More realistic sound clips can improve music quality More realistic ways to be hurt killed can add a strategic twist and/or add more puzzles to the game (spend too long underwater and you drown.... for example)
Just because the game is in heart a fantasy doesn't mean adding realism is a bad idea.
If, in the future, you decide to get this uncontrollable urge to ridicule someone's idea... at least try to come up with an actual reason.
In short: You're a jerk. |

Yeah, and u can set up new combos and stuff, first goomba on fire is 100, if it touches another u get 200, then touch another, u get 400, and so on untill u get a 1-up. |

But it would kick ass to see flaming Goombas running around panicking and screaming, setting other enemies on fire... |

thats definently the worst thing to ask for realism in... |

But that would be pretty sweet to. For the fireballs to start enemies on fire instead of sending them offscreeen. It would be more realisitic.

He means that the enemies turned into coins when they were hit with a fireball. And they did, with a few exceptions, in SMW. SMA4 had an E-reader card that caused the same effect. |

SMA4 is the GBA port of SMB3, SMA2 is the SMW gba port. |

In SMW, the enimies never turned into fireballs when shot....They turned into smoke then disappeared. Im not sure about SMA4 because I have never played it, but if it is the GBA port of SMW, then it doesn't do that either. |

Or is it?
Has anyone ever seen or made a asm hack where enemies will turn into fireballs when shot like in SMW and SMBA4? For me that was a pretty awesome feature.
I guess noone has made a hack where u can pick up plants in Mario 3. Mario adventure was a real tease having plants in the background but not letting us pick them up.
I would love to play any hacks that would put any of these ideas in action. Cause I had a blast with them in SMA4. |
