Are you sure that what this character wasn't eating wasn't Miso Soup? It's greeny in colour, it has Spring onions in it, and it has Tofu in it (So it's good for your vegge friend).
Want a Recipe? Here you go
I've had it in a Japanese Restaurant and it's nice
Oh and Leeks are MUCH bigger than Spring Onions |

Neo, Hiryuu, if you want to make this personal, I have no problems of purchasing plane tickets to specifically kick your asses. |

Leak soup is quite common in many Asian eateries. I suggest you try it.

Green onions? Yea, that's what I've heard them called...never leeks. Must be a regional thing. |

Well that's the thing, I guess it's more of a translation issue than anything. I thought they were leeks, because I've never heard of green onions before. |

In my translation of Fruits Basket, they're called "Leeks". I like watching Kyou freak out in the Manga and the Anime, cause he hates them.
My Mum makes a good potato and leek soup I don't know the recipe though |

Jeez, man. I only had five minutes before I had to go to school, hence it SEEMING like a dumb question. I didn't have time to search for it myself, so I asked here.
Still thanks a lot, I'll take the comment in stride and be thankful someone was able to help me.
Also, she's a vegetarian, I can't have any meat in the soup... that was the challenge, I wasn't sure if any non-meat soup base actually existed. Anyway, now that I have time, I'll google it myself, but if anyone has any more suggestions, I'd be glad to take them. Thanks, Jiz. |

well, there are green onions, and there is soup base, put them together and you get green onion soup...which you can always add to with other touches..but me, I hate onions, so I would never bother to make onion soup.. |

So I've been watching Fruits Basket again, and I saw the episode where Torhu gets sick, and Kyo decides to make some green onion soup for her to help her get better, because apparently green onion is a good cure for a cold.
Let's say I wanted to make said green onion soup. Does it really exist or was it just a fictional food made for the purposes of the show? If it's real, can someone help me find a recipe? |
