Isn't that the job of the Bible, anyway? XD

I'll see if my library has it. I need to read more, anyway.

...Go out to Chapters and BUY it. I picked mine up used at a local book store for 2 bucks, but just throw down 15 and get your own copy. It is by all means a good book, but way too over rated. I've read it multiple times and throroughly enjoy it, I just hate how so many people take it for the absolute God said truth.

Actually all of the facts in the book are checked.

And the holy grail *isn't* technically a host; most things point to the fact that something by that name existed.

And there're still Knights of the Templar alive. They just don't do anything.

The book ruled. The movie sounds great .

Eh! Wrong!

The Knights of Templar did exist, that was the only true thing in the book. The Holy Grail by all means never existed, the fervor that generated around it was the Relic Hunting era in Europe after the Crusades. The entire attack on Opus Die is insulting. They make all members of that movement sound like psychopaths. Which is far from true. Also, the entire myth of Mary Magdelene being wealthy and not a whore sprung up in the middle centuries when opposition to Catholicism grew. Meet the face of lies my friend, you have failed and fallen to believing them.

Notice all you said was "The holy grail didn't exist".

I know the Magdalene thing was just wrong.

And as you may not realize, the Holy Grail has to have existed, for how else would Jesus have served wine to his disciples?

I think you need a definition of Holy Grail. I was referring to something far other than what the book calls the holy grail.

If you want the truth, you should look for some of the myth busting books that have accompanied Da Vinci Code since its release. Another good book to read would be Holy Blood, Holy Grail. It is the book Da Vinci Code is based off. Kind of goofy, but it is a fun read. Then there is Goddess Unmasked, the best book that I've read in a while.

The fervor of the Grail occured throughout history. The Christian adaptation with poems (which all appeared in the post-Crusade era) were indeed derived from prior myths with a Christian spin on them, thus they adapted it to the meaning of Christ's final chalice.

The concept of including the Magdelene popped up with the esoteric hoaxers known as Rosicrucians started their writings, like Chemical Wedding. Then again, this is my take on it, and I've read near a dozen books on the subject and compiled my own theories.

Because even though its not all true, you still learn plenty from it. And better that we read it and discuss what is false about it than read it in our free time and believe everything. I dunno.

Why would they make you read a book that tries to prove an obvious hoax in history?

People keep telling me to read the Da Vinci code, but it seems a little too mainstream for me to find much motivation to read it. If the movie is comparable I'd save my self hours and just see that.
