You mean if they were 'read only', he wouldn't? Actually, you're right.. However, I was pretty off when I wrote that post... Hadn't slept in a while...

Actually, I don't know much about ExGFX at all... I just thought they could have turned into 'read only' by an accident... This has happened to me sometimes before... Well, I'd better shut up

I did insert the ExGFX after editing, but it only worked sometimes. The files aren't read-only. My main problem is with tile editors other than the built-in one. With those, it never has worked.

I think he might need to use Super GFX bypass. Im assuming hes thinking the gfx will change automatically after inserting the exgfx (which would be the case in some instances if you modified the original gfx). Im not good at explaining such things, so someone else might need to teach him how to.

Hmmm, I don't think this is the reason, but always make sure your files are not "read-only" files (or what it is on English cpu's). This happened to me long ago too. My editor didn't save, and it didn't say something about that the files were "read-only". I found it out later but... Just check if your files are "read-only", just in case...

Unless you've ripped some gfx from tlp, don't INSERT them first.

If you've done this step, skip it: Okay, extract your GFX and ExGFX

Make sure you have the ExGFX number on your bypass list.
Extract the ExGFX, press F9 with the 8x8 editor on top to save after editing, THEN insert them as ExGFX.

You cannot edit your letter when you've already turned them in. Think of it like that.

I click Insert GFX files to rom (the green mushroom) and nothing happens. I also tried Insert ExGFX files to rom (the yellow mushroom) and still nothing.

Tell me, are you clicking "Insert GFX files to ROM" or are you clicking "Insert ExGFX files to ROM?"

I dunno if I got those right as I don't have LM with me but that's probably the problem

I've tried using the tile editor in the game and YY-CHR. In YY-CHR (which I prefer) I save the graphics, insert them, but there is no change. I know I've asked ExGFX questions a million times before and everyone's probably getting really pissed off at me, but can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
