The E3 thing was mentioned once before. Do your research before bitching at me, child. Well, the world E3, at least.

You could just make your own Slayer games but youd have to invite people to play with you.

Im having too much fun with Halo multiplayer....it almost makes up for the garbage story mode.....almost.

Live play is indeed very entertaining. I wish there were a straight-up Team Slayer option for the matchmaking play, though, since otherwise you just have to wait for it in the many "mostly objective games" modes.

Anyway, this is yet another reason for me to get broadband.

I was going to mention how you can easily steal Xbox Live free trials from Hastings, but I forgot that's only in the southwest U.S. Nevertheless, this information may be applicable at other places that rent games. Pay attention!
At Hastings they leave the little cards (for a 2-month xbox live trial) in the game cases they put out for display. You don't actually take the game cases home when you rent the game; they have the case sitting up there with all of the rentable copies stacked behind it. So the case just sits there. Thus the trial cards, not being used by anyone, are up for grabs to whomever goes in and looks for them first. Just go in with friends and act like an A.D.D. 10-year-old and grab cases and pop them open pretending to be interested in the instruction booklets or whatever. It works! But don't count your winnings before you check if the card's already expired.

Note: I contend that, while possibly illegal, this is not harmful behavior because otherwise the cards just sit there until they're expired. Hastings won't use them.

I was playing on-line. My buddy was being a jack ass during the CTF. We were down 3-2. When the enemies were just about to win, I got bored as hell, grabbed their warthog (hijacking rules) and started mowing them down. By chance I clipped the flag bearer who was just about to walk through a door and he died. I saved us the match. But, when we played again, I grabbed the Spectre turret and killed all my allies \m/ I love team slayer.

I liked the music too.
I heard that if you beat the entire game of Legendary a screen pops up that says the adventure continues Feb. 9th so maybe more of the game can be unlocked then....its most likely new maps though.

Ive finally got to play Halo 2 on Live and it was awesome, especially since Ive won every single match Ive played so far.

One match had some rediculous lagging and the other team was literally teleporting and dodging all my shots....I was scared but my team still won...cause we're cool like that.

As long as we're voluntarily wandering off-topic, I will respond to an earlier comment and mention that I think the rock music kicks ass. I'm like that.

Don't pay one of these jerks on eBay $200 for a copy of Halo 2. They are readily available all over for $54.99. However, if you feel like wasting your money, and to make this a legitimate auction, I have in hand one precious copy of Halo 2 Limited Edition that I am selling for a buy it now price of only $1000.00. That's right, $1000.00. What all will you get with that price? One copy of a $54.99 video game, and that is it! Heck, I'll even autograph it for you! Who am I? Nobody, but you'll have an autographed copy!

Hilarious and Awesome.

The story at the end was horrible.

There's no reason for such a crappy ending. Bad Bungie >(.

The Covenent were too human. Nuff said.

They completely changed the story from what the E3 demo promised; a war on earth, and a game about defending earth.

Wha...? You get to use an energy sword as Master Chief sometime? I was down to my friend's house in London last weekend, and he bought the game the day or night that it came out or something. Besides the addition of the new Covenant weapons, I'd rather have the guns from the old game.

I didn't see a whole lot of the game when I was there. We did some multi, then a couple random coop campaign levels. The big part of one was you were playing as Covenant, going down on some elevator, and flood kept appearing and you had to kill them. Then there was a city-like level, where there's a big walker thing going around and blasting the heck out of buildings with some beam coming from it's 'eye'. We did the final level last, but I missed most of the speech in the end movie. They probably explain what you see on the projector thing (I won't say what for those people that haven't beaten it yet), but I still wonder what the point of the whole game was.

Like I told my friend over MSN, it's probably gonna be like Final Fantasy all over again. It never ends

All the time building up to the release of the game, there's all this hype about how good it'll be and such, and I guess the game's good. The levels and stuff are new, and they're fun to play, but it leaves me wanting more.

Speaking of the Flood, check out this un-included enemy that apparently didn't make the actual game: (if it stretches the page, go have a ball of cheese)

Here's a video:
http://useruploads.mythica.org/uploads/FloodJuggernaut.wmv

At first I kind of assumed the Flood were created by the Forerunner, as a "punishment" vessel to whomever wanted to control the power of the Halo's. (play god and in doing so, they must suffer the wrath of the Flood). That idea went down the drain once you learn the Forerunner actually wiped out their race to stop the spreading of the Flood.

Indeed they were. And I'm hoping to find out more about that oh so crazy should be boss that you get to speak to. You know who I'm talking about

As long as we learn more about the Flood, on the CE: DVD they made stipulations that the flood originated on that gas harvesting station that you board on the first arbiter level. It makes a lot of sense. That holding tank with pre-developed flood larvae. A lot of sense is put into it. Although I'm hoping the Flood have some more secrets to give out.

With the E3 demo level being taken out.

"It was boring, and there were framerate problems."

Quote from Bungie staff that you can hear on the LE disc.

My assumption is Bungie purposely did what they did to wait for the Xbox 2 / Xenon, or whatever next platform they're going to go on to make Halo 3 and make it with what they wanted, and what they wanted to originally do. Apparently from what they "make" it sound like, the Xbox alone wasn't powerful enough to fufill everything that they wanted to be in the game.

So in short Bungie made Halo 2 the way it is purposely, so they can make another Halo game to an extent they originally intended and wanted.

Sure it's an excuse, but if we get a Halo game with levels that look like all of the levels on Earth in Halo 2, that would ultimately kickass. (those 2 levels were easily the best ...)

I specifically remember hearing them say "this game will end the war between Earth and the Covenant" what the hell happened?

I cant get over the way it feels like its half a freakin game? Im thouroughly disappointed in the story mode, the multiplayer is the only that saves this game.

That's where I got the info buddy.

When Halo was first announced for Mac as a Myst styled adventure game, I creamed myself. When Halo was going to be moved to PC as a 3rd person shooter-adventure...I was completely against it. Then I didn't hear anything about it. Rented an X-Box and Halo. Played through to the first appearance of the Flood and fell in love with the most engrossing FPS I've ever played. The game is DESIGNED to be simple, and that alone is revolutionary in this day and age.

Yep, I take it you read this by any chance?
http://bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=1074758

(I read the entire thing ... lol)

Some of it, I will say is very believable. I seriously can recall Bungie saying that this will "End the Halo series" and be the last Halo game, saving human kind.

Nonetheless if you haven't read that post at bungie.net (Ziffski, mainly you) you should seriously check it out, that guy points out a lot of good things to spark speculation.

I also dislike how the books are very distant now. According to First Strike the Covanent had in fact found Earth, human's homeworld, and were preparing to attack it. Well according to Halo 2, the Covanent "stumbled" upon it, accidently. I know that the books and games are not supposed to be linked, but it would have made the Halo universe entirely, better if you ask me.

Also like you said Ziffski the guy and many others claim the Arbiter levels to be "filler" levels, that were originally not going to be in the game.

Either way, Bungie sure did promise a lot of things that we didn't end up getting.

But if you can look back to 1998 when Halo was first in development, you'd know it changed completely when Microsoft bought out Bungie, and nearly forced them to make the game for the Xbox.

Rumor flying around closed Halo circles. The game you see is not the way the game was supposed to be. The Arbiter was added in after the fact, etc. Basically, MS made Bungie change the game so that it would be set up for a sequel.

I'm just going to go ahead and say this:

I'd rather play Halo's campaign than Halo 2's. It feels much more dramatic, more realistic, flows better, and leaves you satisfied. I've probably beaten Halo completely through 50+ times, but no matter how hard I try Halo 2 just seems to be boring. Things I didn't like:
- The way the levels were setup, you'll believe you're on level 2 when you're on level 5.
- The rock music. My god, please, they felt completely out of place and didn't fit the mood at all.
- Way too many plotholes.
- Seemed short.

Still though Halo 2 is a finely polished game, multiplayer is kick ass. Already been to a few LAN parties, and now I'm just waiting to get Xbox Live.

Still though Halo 2 does definently have some dissapointing parts, and things just seem rushed and incomplete. Hopefully the next one will be better ...

I'm only on the third level of legendary, so I won't know for a LONG time if there is a special ending or not. I'm hoping its better, but if you waited through the credits...
