I think ill take you up on that. But Im having problems with mgfle42. When I replace the original boss robots with the doc robots the doc robots are all glitched up but the weapons they fire look fine. Any fix to this |

Are you planning on using the GFX from other MM games in your'e hack? I remember seeing a Mega Man hack that had a face lift from other MM games. it looked awsome. I'll see if I have it & send you pics, I'm goin to bed. It's 12:35am in New York. |

well i replaced top man with air man cause when the top spin is used megaman spins around like a tornado so all i had to do was rename the weapon from top spin to twister. but i probably could substitute a few other weapons from other games but ill save those for other projects but after i get setteled in to my new place consider megaman 3 doc robots revenge to be in progress |

Not sure why I'm enjoying that so much, it's just so... different.
Hard Man always reminded me of Dive Man, at least in appearance, and his hard knuckle could easily become a torpedo. Unless, of course, you're looking for all MM2 characters.
How about Quick Man replacing Top Man (his top attack has a similar pattern to Quickman's quick boomerang). Not sure what you'd do about Mega Man's top spin attack, though.
That's why Mega Man 3 was always the worst to hack -- for many reasons it's the easiest, but it's so different from all the others... trying to find a logical reason for the Doc Robots and another robot master that splits himself into two is always off-putting.
Anyway, Mega Man 3 was always my favourite of the whole series, so whatever comes of your hack, keep us all informed! |

I have already renamed all the boss robots and weapons in the hack
woodman replaces snakeman and gets you the leaf blower
heat man replaces gemini man
metal man replaces shadowman and gets you the original metal blade from mm2
comments and suggestions are welcome |

not all hacks can be represented in a screenshot. You'll have to use your imagination on this one (or actually try it out) |

It's not just three bytes, you have to change some tiles in Tile Layer Pro too. So, it's more like 67 bytes. |

Well I do give credit where credit is due. If it wernt for bbit Id never would have gotten my wish of finally being able to use the metal blade in megaman 3. To me thats a dream come true |

Well if I was reeeeeeeeeeealy lazy I'd just send him the rom and have him do it for me. Or send me one of his. |

It would take me longer to download/extract/apply a patch than it would to just change the THREE BYTES in question. I mean come on... three bytes... hardly a necessity for an IPS. I'm with BMF all the way on this one.
Cool hack though. Way to go... uh... bbit? XD |

Yes thats nice, I found all 3 of those offsets and gave them to you. Atleast you did thank me at the end.
Hacks like this are extremely easy to make, I could probably do 3 a day if I had the motivation. |

Yeah, but what about those of us who know how to use a hex editor, but just can't be bothered to make the patch (or have better projects to work on)? |

C'mon, people need to learn how to use hex editors if they're gonna do this ROM hacking thing. Spoon-feeding them IPS patches only reinforces their lazy habits. |

Making an IPS patch of this to complement the information would probably be a good idea. |
