Off topic, but go into My Documents, right-click, go to Properties, and change the target.

Any way to move My Documents to D:\ if you have a 10 GB C: partition and a 100 GB D: one, Jesper?

(...Trust me, I hate having stuff automatically save in C:\My Documents. No love for those who partition. )

Hope to try it out once my huge-ass WoW Beta download finishes.

It was Gadget actually if anyone needed to know.

Anyway, I downloaded a copy of Konfabulator and I must say that the weather widget is quite impressive, but one thing about Konfabulator bothers me though, it installs the widgets into it's own folder in the (abandoned) My Documents folder and I already have unregistered mydocs.dll from my Windows OS, very strange indeed.

Pretty handy weather widget though.
It tries to do it the standard way, and the standard way these days is the My Documents folder and subfolders, like it or not.

I also changed the thread title - there's no longer a question mark at the end of the title as there is no doubt about Konfabulator coming to Windows (nor has it been - it was part of the original intent).

Okay, I want a Gadget Widget then. Eh, I was close. I think Gadgets are what Dashboard will call them (btw, Apple had the idea first, as early as 1984, so don't accuse them of stealing Konfabulator's idea...)

I would like to see an ACS Widget though. One that lets you know roughly where you are in the ACS for the day, in real time. Make it green, like Colin's ACS posts

I now want a Widget that looks like Widget from Rescue Rangers.

In regards to your other thread, an ACS widget would be kinda cool. And distracting...

A-hoy-hoy. I started another thread on this in Craziness Domain, and with a little different focus. Noone deemed it appropriate - and by noone I mean Legion, he's not even staff you know - so I took the business here despite this being a Help forum by definition (forum description). Oh well. Has anyone here actually tried it?

Yeah, they're pretty cool. Although I have to admit, I'm REALLY looking forward to Apple's Dashboard

Interesting... So basically it's a program that offers all the functions that spyware programs do but WITHOUT the spyware and everything is classified as a "widget".

...Yeah, I'll check it out. The word "widget' is cool anyways.

It can only PARTIALLY do it. Again, this isn't limited to your Desktop only, I can float widgets or stick them on top of applications too. (I just didn't post a screenshot of that, cause then I'd need to show you my applications...)

As for the slow speed, I find Konfabulator fine on my Mac, but it did have one REALLY scary crash that I didn't like.

Hopefully they fix the slow speed (possibly not, due to it using JavaScript for powering the widgets), and memory leaks for the Windows version.

I think there's a weather extension available for Firefox too. It's free too.

Konfabulator is not spyware, and as far as I know, neither is Stardock's program.

But there ARE plenty of spyware things out there.... just this isn't one of them.

Ok, if you can have it above applications too I look into it.

Hell, there is always some unused space in the titlebar whenever I surf. I usually place Winamp there but a nice clock or some weather watcher. :O

And well, my desktop is really bland too so... x)

Not sure about Stardock's thingie, but Konfabulator sits above applications if I want it to.

Hmm, eye candy I say. Probably something I would consider testing of course. But then the desktop is not visible very often on my desktop... I tend to use mIRC or the web browser as backround.

Yeah, I've heard KDE has stuff like that too. Konfabulator's okay, it reminds me a bit of the old stuff on the Original Mac, but shinier. I remember there was a sliding puzzle on the original Mac that I liked.

So far, I like my weather widget the best
