In Opera go to preferences then to the History and Cache part.
There you must set the "Check document" and the "Check images" to always. That'll show the most recent page everytime the page is loaded.

And to disable cache just unselect "Cache documents", "Cache images", "Cache other".
Also to be very sure set "Memory cache" to OFF and select "Empty on exit".

That should kill all your cache problems.

That's odd that Opera still uses a cache when you told it not to . (I'm assuming that's what you said.) Try Firefox. It'll listen to your cache settings...

I've got my youngest brother (he's in 7th grade) switched over to Firefox! w00t! He asked what's so better, and I remember him keeping multiple windows for multiple pages on GameFAQs, he loved the tabs! Plus, I also hid the ads for him via userContent.css </rantmode>

But then you don't have dad/sisters/whoever who go and surf on "strange sites". (heck somehow they did get an dialer once... )

Yeah, it is possible to get spyware from just viewing some sites, like porn sites.

Amen.

I do use Firefox myself, but just for the speed. It seems to load sites faster, especially sites with alot of pictures. I hadn't got any spyware since I started to use Firefox.

It seems that 95% of pop-ups on the net contain some sort of spyware... hell, I just checked my e-mail in IE and got some new spyware on my computer... nothing a scan and delete won't cure, but still annoying.

Hmm ... I almost never tried Opera so I can't help about that, but have you tried Firebird/Firefox? It renders pages like Mozilla but it's not as big, maybe it'll work?

well, it's better than IE.

try doing something like Ctrl+F5 instead of just F5, or empty your cache from time to time.

I use Opera. IE has a problem with giving me spyware and viruses ALL the time... and Netscape/Mozilla crash on me all the time.

Okay, seems I've got a problem with cache and it's pissing me off. I tried testing out different settings on my browser using PMs to myself... okay, so here's the problem... I have my browser set to not cache pages, but even though I have that setting I have to refresh every link I click in order to see the latest version... it's seriously pissing me off.... Any clues on what the problem may be? I've got the settings to not cache documents, I've tried not caching anything... I've even rebooted... nothing is helping... any suggestions?
