I thought that newer GB games didn't have battery memory. Just an flash memory of some sort.

Send it in to Nintendo if you unsure how to do it.

I have heard of severeal new games that don't want to save, but it's rare so you was very unlucky Akane-chan.

OR, if you don't want to do any of that, then you can do this.

Hook your GBA up to the A/C adapter and never turn it off. That way, you'll have a dedicated server of sorts for that game. Just don't die.

Battery's dead or faulty...either or...if the save isn't there after you load it back up then it's definitely that.

Only way you can fix that is to crack open the cart and get a new battery in it...that or buy a new Crystal cart.

If you can save different games, then the cartradge is faulty. I hope that friend kept the receit.

Well, the battery is probably dead. I don't know why it would be dead though, it's not that old of a game.
