Updated the tutorial with some important information. Now it also explains how to create IPS-patches. The link has been fixed, it's temporary replaced with the one at Zophar's Domain. |

So I guess there ain't free rar unzippers then. Do Genesis ips files really take up that much space that they can't be distributed in the normal ips files? |

If you want a program that can do most of the different compression formats, I'd recommend PicoZip. There's an official site for it, but it was down when I tried to get to it. See the site if you want to know what different files it can open The one thing I really like about this program is that it opens lha / lzh compressed files without requiring an extra program. |

Well, RAR files are sorta like ZIP files. You need something like WinRAR to open them up. I bet the IPS file is inside the ones you're talking about.

Thank you, people... And thanks to Jesper for the sticky... Let's hope new people will read this if they don't understand IPS-patching. If such a thread will be created again, I'm sure DarkSlaya got some work to do (points to post two) .
And yes, the title should be something like: "DON'T READ THIS, BECAUSE THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC HACK CREATOR"... Nice ideas from HyperHacker, DarkSlaya and Zen, *laughs*...
I don't think we need a flash movie. That would be cool, but someone then has to make it. And my voice is NOT the one which will be in it. By the way, imagine if some people don't have a flash player or something... You never know.

The idea is basically nice - but as like many threads in different forums there are people, not reading stickied threads at all, even when the thread is blinking in pink, font size 30 and has twenty exclamation marks in it
Other than else - good idea with that explanation how to apply IPS files even for *sigh* "noobs"
Might be merged with an existing FAQ into a general one - so there won't be a mass of cluttered up stickied threads with overlapping questions and answers here

That's good, your'e heart was defenitly in the right place when you made this thread. If you get a chance PM Fusoya and tell him about the screenshots you took, maybe he'll update his readme file with the screenshots you made & put separate instructions bundled with Lunar IPS. It's worth a try. If not, maybe a mod can update the Announcement on how to apply patches.
