I ain't really asking how to make ASM hax. I was more interested in hearing what people have already done in the hacks that are out there. |

I think you can make fireballs go strait in SMB1, or SMB3, along with making bounce at various angles |

The only way you get "easy ASM" programs, is to actually learn assembly. |

Hmmm, if I'm not wrong, you can edit some elements in smb3 with hukka's smb3 workshop, found here: http://hukka.furtopia.org/projects/m3ed/. But I don't know about some serious, easy ASM programs... |

Strange Mario Bros 2 (but not in the last release): - Shells bounce on walls instead of disappearing (with the sound effect like in SMB1 and SMB3) - POW blocks shake the ground a lot more (and better) and last longer - Bomb explosions look nicer (the background fades down instead of flashing colors) - Completely replaced the music engine with my own (with new music), added a few sound effects and put SMB3's spade bonus music in the bonus chance - Small Mario's jump sound is higher like in SMB1 (also previously changed the life bar to be horizontal and smaller)
Strange Mario Bros 3: odometer, P-switch/star/white brick/etc. time indicator, Mario faces in the direction he walks to (in world maps), also made small Mario's jump sound higher
DahrkDaiz's SMB3 hacks are full of cool ASM hacks, so you should try them |

I seen that SMB1 has a hack that allows u to break blocks with turtle shells, cycle levels randomly, add SMB 3 style graphix with pallete, and give Luigi diffeent controls than mario.
So what other things have people done with these games. I'd love to try some of them or at least hear about them. Anyone ever do some kinda hack where enemies turn to coins when hit with fireballs? |
