OOC: Sorry about the bump, but I really wanna keep this fight up. I like where it's going, even when I can't really think of another move to make.

As the explosion rocked the manhole, a figure was seen springing out of the shaft, as Grey's shoes fired again and a grappling hook flew toward a streetlight post, which he immediately swung to the top of...

Grey: "Can't say the same, myself!"

He sprung off the streetlight and high into the air, over Melvin's head, firing a trio of bullets straight downward at him!

Melvin shrugged helplessly, momentarily holstered a gun in his pocket, then pulled out an old favorite -- a frag grenade! He pulled out the pin with his teeth, and simply tossed it towards the manhole.

Melvin: Too easy.

Grey: "So many guns!"

In a single acrobatic move, Grey dodge-rolls to the side, lands on his feet, and begins running! Shooting a bullet at a nearby manhole, he blows the ground around it open and leaps inward, switching ammunition again!

"Let's see...."

Cartridge in, cartridge out. Grey waits for Melvin to cease fire, and readies a grappling hook, clinging to what's left of the shattered pieces of the manhole ladder.

Taking a corner of his lab coat with a free hand, Melvin pulled his legs up to his chest, and swept the edge of the coat around, completely enveloping himself as the torrent of flames completely engulfed him. The flames soon smoked out from lack of material to burn with, and Melvin allowed the coat to unfurl, emerging only slightly singed. He turned with one side to Grey, while the arm facing him dove into his coat.

Melvin: Tsk, tsk. Flames, such a primative weapon. Now, if you want something with kick...

He pulled his arm out of his coat, revealing a large, tan gun with a rather long barrel. He set the sight on Grey, and pulled the trigger.

A pair of circles near the end of the barrel began to spin around in opposite directions from each other, while beginning to glow a steady light blue. A few faint electrical crackles crawled up the barrel of the gun -- and then a beam of yellow energy poured out of the gun, with Melvin keeping both hands on the grip to better control it. The beam headed straight towards Grey, and assuming he dodged, Melvin would undoubtedly move the beam to follow his path.

As the bullets ricocheted off the ground around Grey, he panicked, looking left and right and screaming like the chicken he is.

Grey: "Gaaaaaa! No! No bullets! No! Bad!"

Screaming in time with his jerking motions, Grey's erratic movements caused random objects to come piling out of his trenchcoat--grappling hooks, a teddy bear, several Bob Marley CDs, a lucky cat, some shillings, the instruction manual to the SNES game "Lagoon", and a magnet. Amazingly enough, no blood. Turning around, Grey decided to toss off a one-liner...

"Well, that was a ---" Zing!!!

As a bullet pierced through his coat, he collapsed to the ground, and several more bullets revealed a kevlar vest beneath his clothes. When Melvin finished firing, Grey rolled onto his back, and shifted his head to the side as one last bullet struck the ground beside it. The look on his face is one of exceeding pain and shock.

"If that were any closer, I don't think I'd be here right now.... Nice shot..... give or take a few!"

He somersaults backward, regaining his footing. In a twirl and a flashy wave of his coat over himself, the vest is cast off his body, and his business suit is clearly visible beneath the trenchcoat. He whips out his own gun, and pops the A.P. cartridge from it, replacing it with a titanium-coated case of bullets...

"So, I'm not protected anymore, and I can't move like lightning. Guess this is a game of quick-draw, from now on..."

He whips his gun upward, and fires out a few bullets, sighting Melvin. The bullets, after traveling a distance towards the flying prodigy, explode in a burst of napalm!

Melvin pondered over this new turn of events for a moment.

Melvin: Alright. Let's see. I can kick him in the face, I can throw something at him, I can pull out the Castor Rifle, I could have Melvin Robo's fist come up through the floor and launch him into the sky in a humorous fashion, or...

Melvin pointed his Gauss Pistol down towards Grey, shrugged, and began squeezing the trigger, sending a few of the lightning-fast projectiles towards him.

Melvin: Orrr... I could shoot him.

Grey: "Dammit."

Melvin called his bluff...

Melvin:

...

Melvin: Okay!

Melvin took off running, then leaped into the air, the boosters in his boots firing, and he sailed into the air on his Jet Scrander wings.

Still pointing his gun, Grey hopes to get in at least SOME witty banter before Melvin takes to the skies...

Grey: "I see. So instead of low blows, you're going for really high ones?"

Grey then reaches into his coat, and withdraws.... an empty hand. He suddenly rushes Melvin, leaping toward him and clapping him on the shoulder with his hand.

"Ha, I'd actually like to see this for myself, rather than have to fight you while you're flying. How's that jetpack work?"

He's grinning as he makes his approach, his hand sliding away from Melvin's shoulder and his gun being placed back into its holster.

"And don't worry a bit about what I just did, it's not like I placed a minute explosive charge on your shoulder or anything and I'm planning on detonating it as you take off. Go ahead, fly away, I wanna see!"

Melvin kept his gun trained on Grey, only now at his midsection. He stepped forward, and pivoted on one heel, his Jet Scrander wings sliding out of the back of his coat and locking into place.

Melvin: Of course.

Grey smirks.

Grey: "And here, I thought I was the one with the advantage..."

He reaches into his coat and pulls a tab. This action is immediately followed by Grey sailing over Melvin's head and landing neatly behind him, his gun still pointed at Melvin's head. As he flew, Melvin saw a coil of what looks like metal pop out of the bottom of his shoes...

"Go-Go-Gadget spring shoes, I guess. Can we continue without any low blows?"

Grey immediately feels Melvin's gun tap him. On the crotch.

Melvin: Why not try something shorter, like, "It would probably hurt if I shot your genitals off?"

As Melvin finishes crowing out his monologue, Grey is nowhere to be seen.

Grey: "Well said, Melvin. But a bit too long for my taste. Why not try something shorter, like...."

At this, Melvin feels the barrel of Grey's gun tap him in the back of the head. Grey does not fire, nor will he.

"...your overconfidence is your weakness?"

Grey topples to the ground, allowing Melvin to witty-one-line away....

The bullet travels straight through the left engine of the red Get Machine, and it spirals for a minute, then straggles off into the distance, a large plume of smoke billowing from it's rear.

And as Grey admires his handiwork, a figure drops from the sky, labcoat flaring behind him - with his foot poised to slam into the back of his unsuspecting opponent's head.

Assuming it hit, it probably would send Grey stumbling forward. Melvin would then have plenty of time to perform a well-executed backflip off his opponent's head, drawing his gun as he spiraled through the air, then land and shift into a badass pose, and think up a witty one-liner.

From the bright glare of the sun, Grey sees the missiles coming, and barely manages a shounen "jump out of the way of the massive explosion while for some reason taking very little damage" maneuver before pointing his gun at the sky-flying Get Machine and firing! However, rather than empty an entire clip, Grey fires one. Single. Bullet. Standard Issue "Whitelight" Armor Piercing bullet, straight at the Get Machine's rear engine. Rolling along the ground from the impact of his leap, Grey brings himself to a standing position and attempts to admire his handiwork, however it may have fared.

The red Get Machine streaked into the air, into the direct of the path of the sun towards Grey's position, causing a blinding glare if he looked up towards his opponent. The Get Machine spiraled off, circling around the building, then firing another volley of missles towards him as he sailed for the ground.

Grey leaps out the window he's in, and as he falls, fires a bullet upward at one of the missiles, to detonate it before it hits the building! Assuming the missiles are impact-detonated, that should probably cause one of those fancy massive explosions you see in most generic animes...

Grey: "But.... there's still the falling issue...."

And indeed there is! A fifty-story fall is going to hurt just about anyone, and Grey's no exception. To slow his descent, Grey twists one of the buttons on his coat, triggering a small parachute from within his coat. While not exactly enough to keep him perfectly safe, it's still gonna make sure he's not a puddle of goo when he hits the ground, which he does -- hard.

Melvin Robo idly scratches at it's chin in thought.

Melvin: Well, I guess I've demonstrated the fact that I've got a giant robot to kick ass with. Just so you know, I've got plenty of other tricks than just rocket fists, but I'd rather not destroy my city any more than neccesary, y'know? And with that being said -- OPEN GATE!

Melvin slams the left control stick forward, and the towering Super Robot breaks into three, smaller planes, one red, one white, one yellow, each resembling a certain 70's Super Robot by an unnamed Japanese mangaka. Anyways, the small white plane and the yellow one flew off around the building, presumably to a Super Robot dock in the back. The red one, however, continues to hover about at the fifty-story level, while Melvin still sat snugly in the cockpit.

Melvin: Let's see if I can't hit you with this, ne?

Red cursors in the tactical display huddled around Grey's figure, and Melvin pressed down on a red button on his right control stick. A pair of missles fired out from the wings of the small plane-ish craft, hurtling straight towards his opponent.
