There hasn't been a plugin released for anything besides Winamp as of yet. You can jump the gun by using the source code posted on CaitSith2's site, but you'll have to know how to create whatever player based on the source code given.

EDIT (from Zophar): 11/29/04 - Utility News: Audio Overlord v2.0b3 released, now with GSF support.

Some people might want to look into that.

EDIT 2 (from Zophar): 12/07/04 - 21:24: CaitSith2 has informed us that he has released some GSF ripping tools for anybody interested in ripping their own GSF files. As of now, there are 3 utilities:

Sap Tapper- Automated Sappy Driver ripper. Not all games are ripped 100%, but it will log what it found to be Sappy compatible, where it couldn't find the remaining calls required. In these cases, knowing Thumb/ARM Assembly will be required to finish the ripping process. Also, you will need to know Thumb/ARM Assembly to deal with games using other sound drivers, such as Krawall (Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings series), AAS (Payback), or other custom drivers. Visual C++ 7 runtimes required.
gsfopt- GSF set optimizer/timer. All ripped sets should be optimized before release, to remove unused code/data unrelated to music playback. This program will never automatically tag any GSF sets with the times it finds, as it's not 100% reliable and the program can only identify one loop. Source code is included. Visual C++ 7 runtimes are required.
ROM2GSF- Program to turn a ROM into a GSF file. This is used mostly with manual rips.
Happy ripping!
You can get them at CaitSith2's Homepage or the GSF Players & Utilities section

Well, unless you can find a plugin for either of those media players, I don't think you'll be able to The only plugins I was able to find on google were for winamp Unless there's some way to get it to work in another player, I think you're out of luck

ehh.. I've been wondering if there'd be a non-winamp way to play them.. (Hey, I've got enough music multi-format players on my pc already (i do NOT want a third one. (I've Windows Media Player (decent) and AvRack.(Nice - I prefer it to ANY other music player))

Actually, it's 1GHz on the dot...and I doubt you would with what 'Bleeding Edge' is considered nowadays.

Newest is 0.08 but:

Version 0.07 build 0

* Performance Boost - (decode_pos_ms - (mod.outMod->GetWrittenTime()-mod.outMod->GetOutputTime())) is now only called twice a second, rather than about 100,000 times a second, at all times. CPU usage is no longer 95-100% on most systems, when using XM-Play. If you have a slower system. (less than 1GHz, you might notice this performance boost in winamp as well.)

Ehehhhhh...yea that would help.

Not the first plugin to do so, check out Highly Experimental, you know, that PSF plugin. Random picture's, some include Mini-me, badly drawn Cloud + Buster Sword, and that's all I can think of at this moment.

Overloaded possibly?

There's a few mirrors... not all of them are current, but you'll get a better download off ZD for the files hosted there I'd think.

Think the overall intro rush halted...they're still getting some new ones out, but not as fast as they were...but I've got 64 albums now as it is w/ 0.06's version (now with freaking Volume control).

Ha, I thought those were some sort of crazy album art in the GSF.

Yeah, it's random (10% chance?) and there's more than one image like that:

- Big fat cat with "Jink is a fatty" written in the middle
- Black cat
- Some weird character (can't tell what exactly it is)

Do Alt-3 then Esc many times and you'll see them all

I found a easter egg, when you check out the GSF info window (you do that by double-clicking on the song title). Sometimes a picture of a cat appears instead of the "Highly advanced" picture.

I don't know if that is random or not, but seen it a few times.

Looks like Bouche is tagging PKMN Emerald rips. I want those.

It's still better than nothing.

I don't really notice a difference, at least with the Castlevania tracks.

Well, it have been possible to play GBA music before. It just have been limited to "sappy" based games (forgot the offical name :/), Bouche made it possible to play music outside a game. But it didn't rip it or anything...

I say finally, now i'm gonna listen to some of my favorite tunes. xP

Well, it does sounds diffrent from a real GBA thought. Square waves tends to sounds more than the other instruments for example. Funny how it sounds like a real GBA for everything expect the square waves on some songs. Square waves sounds crisp clear... which the samples aren't, sounds kinda odd.

When you set the interpolation off it still sounds kinda odd for me, but then i'm so used to play it on real GBA with it's inbuilt speakers so... no i'm not playing Mario kart on VBA much.

Bandlimited sounds the closest to a GBA without headphones. :/

My ears can't hear the difference between no interpolation and bandlimited, so it can't be that bad
