Well, for my everyday usage whenever I don't feel starting any games. It wouldn't matter.

I use Linux and it's as good as Windows for Surfing, e-mailing and chatting on MSN/AIM whatever. And for games you can use WineX, which runs games at the same speed.

However I have no experince about Macs, I know that my favorite programs is for mac. Such as Firefox. But the latest time I tried mac was on a emulator. Which I have installed. I was quite surprised how nicely it looked and it was around the time when Win95 was dominating. MacOS was and still is before it's time. And well, PC's was actually more badly built from the beginning than macs. But PC's won becuse of the clones (and with that they was cheaper...)

And the most annoying OS is Linux, at least if your not used to Linux. Windows is not a big security hole as people want to make it, as long your using alternate programs for surfing and mailing and as long you have firewall and stuff.

I still trust Windows, just not IE...

Both.

I need both to do what I like. Generally though, I'd prefer to use the Mac, for the same reasons I prefer to use Linux on my PC. The OS doesn't get in my way, it just facilitates whatever it is that I want to do. In Windows, the OS gets in the way from time to time.

If Windows weren't so easily hijacked by anything and everything, including legitimate applications, it wouldn't bother me as much, but generally it's not as good a user experience as my Mac or Linux are.

EDIT: If you want to see a good example of where Mac outshines the PC, have a play with Expos

I'd say PC. I've seen a PC run faster with 64 mb of RAM than a Mac with 64mb of RAM. (Both tested with a clean install of their OS , thought I can't remember them I know the OS where equal)

PCs because they're cheap (unless you build from scratch, then they're the same). Apple/PowerPC computers have better performance, though.

The the context you want about which OS: Neither. I'd rather have Linux (which runs on both computers, and more).

PC, but the only reason why is because I really don't have a lot of Mac experience behind me, other than old Apple IIgs and a cruddy Macintosh back in the early 90s that would constantly lock. So I guess I really can't take down a Mac without first knowing what I'm dealing with nowadays.

And besides, I'm only know the 'Windows' perspective of it. :\

Not complaining though.

my old school had bought a few emacs for Newspaper a while back. I used them just about every day, and found nothing close stability with those damned machines. I mostly used Photoshop, Pagemaker, Word, and Internet Explorer, and i can't even count the number of times those things froze up.

Not to mention that when you're developing anything with graphics, the hinderance of a missing right-click button can drive you insane. after two years of using those machines i never got used to that..

P.C. for control and variety (i like to have control of my computer and variety on the case of software anyways)

Mac for stability (since macs haven't crashed that much for me when I use them with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and Word are open all at the same time on a G4) and professional development (well, less interference...hard to explain)
