1. you might have to set jumpers if it is an old computer, but that typically isn't the case--i believe on a really old computer I had to do that...i don't remember. Another thing I can think of is that your computer can't handle more than 128 of that type of ram. My current desktop computer right now has three ram slots but only supports two sticks of DDR ram...

2. What OS are you using and what is your file system (found out by right clicking on the C: drive and selecting properties)? If the file system says FAT16, then well, there is your problem...

3. to enable your sound card, right click on My Computer and select properties. One of the tabs should say "Device Manager" or "Hardware". If you see hardware, then click on Device Manager button. Once you get Device Manager loaded, you should see a yellow circle with an exclaimation mark, right click on it and select enable and that should enable your sound card.

woah, those are some weird problems...the only thing ive seen is similar is the ram problem, but i had multiple ram chips, and sometimes the comp had 128mb, and other times it had 256. we never did fix the problem but now that was awhile ago, and I have a diff comp now, I dont see why windows thinks you have a 2gb hard drive, unless something is wrong, or you have it partitioned somewhere, and cant access it for some reason. the sound card, there is an option to enable it I think....try looking for an option to enable it....

1. I got a 256MB RAM chip, and the computer still thinks it has 128MB RAM
2. I have a 40 GB hard drive, but Windows thinks it has 2GB
3. In System Information my sound card has a driver, but it's disabled
